It's CLOSE, but REED Would CURRENTLY Give the "Historical" Edge to Floyd....

"However", if Manny Pac BEATS DeLa, that'll SHIFT the Pendulum Pac's Way, N REED's Opinion...

Of course, I love Pacman, he is an incredible fighter. My point is TKO, however much of a beast Pacman is (and he IS a beast) - he is quite simply an undersized beast, too undersized to beat Oscar, barring some miracle.

I'd like to see Oscar come out throwing punches like that, but I doubt he will.

You're also making the assumption that Oscar hits Manny with most of that. With Manny's lack of height, Oscar's punching down ALOT. If Manny stays low and gets under most of that...I can see Oscar tiring and getting frustrated by mid-fight. It's not like he's the most relaxed guy in the ring which leads to early fatigue.

Will Oscar be fast enough to catch him though?

Not Only that, Manny's "Beastiality" Started to WANE a Couple Years Ago, As YOU 1st Noted After the Solis Fight...

    Indeed :bears:

And you were one of those who at least picked up on it not long after that. We are talking about an undersized beast whose hunger and ferocity has waned badly.

It's NOT N Manny's Make-Up to DISengage...Even if he STARTS OUT that Way, Manny WILL B Tempted to Get CLOSER to DeLa @ Some Point...Soooooner Rather than LATER...

TACTICALLY, Manny's NOT Gonna Turn N 2 Floyd Mayweather All of a Sudden...

And Oscar isn't going to turn into Calzaghe, Paul Williams, Margarito or any other fighter who throws tons of punches per round.

Oscar has always been a careful and measured fighter...he's never handled pressure well.

Mind you, I think he wins the fight but I can't see it being due to outworking Manny. he'll catch Manny with something eventually.

Oscar's only real chance against Floyd was to catch him and he couldnt' really do it. Manny isn't as defensively slick as Floyd so he WILL get stung at some point. Oscar's age will keep him from catching up to Manny as soon as one would expect, be he will at some point. I think Manny goes more rounds than people expect.

if Manny were able to stop Oscar, I'd be as surprised as I was to see Tyson KO'd or Foreman KO Moorer.

A Part of REED WONDERS if Manny GENUINELY Thinks he Can WIN this Fight...

His Hunger has ALREADY Dissipated & Now he's Got 10-20 MILLION MORE Reasons to B "Soft"...

Is Manny WILLING to Take a BEATING N an Attempt to WIN this Fight OR, will Roach Simply Throw In the Towel if the Going Get's Toooooooooo TOUGH???...By NO Means is REED Questioning Manny Pac's HEART, but Considering the Circumstances, U HAVE to Wonder just how DEDICATED he'll B to BEATING DeLa...

    Put it this Way...

If DeLa Puts Forth the SAME Early Rounds Workrate that we Saw Against Forbes, Manny Pac WON'T See the 6th Round...Manny ISN'T & NEVER WILL B as Good DEFENSIVELY as Forbes....

De La Hoya's got a better jab than any of those fighters, and he can throw it 30-40 a round for 12 rounds.

I do find it interesting that people seem to think Pacquiao's stamina in the later rounds - should it get there - is something of a given.

    Not Only That...

Manny Pac Certainly WASN'T BOLDLY Engaging JM Marquez N the Latter Portion of EITHER Of their Fights, yet Guys R Thinking he'll PURSUE a Fatigued DeLa Late???:dunno:...

Even a TIRED DeLa is TWICE as Powerful as JM Marquez...

I would be interested to know the last time Oscar averaged between 30-40 jabs per round, over 12 rounds.

It would be really bad for Oscar:lol::lol:He didn't chose Pacman to lose.

It won't matter, Oscar will pay for his crimes. Logically, this fight is a horrendous execution. None of this matters, Chinus Maximus will not allow Manny to lose. Oscar shan't prevail; he shan't.

I would not call this a lose-lose fight for DLH, at all. He makes what, $30 million or so? He wins the fight and then gets another huge payday fighting Hatton (provided Ricky wins). DLH loses, he still makes another windfall promoting Hatton-Pacquiao (or maybe Mayweather-Pacquiao).

As far is it "hurting his legacy", well, he's already a first ballot Hall of Famer and one of the top fighters of this era. No matter how poorly he performs or whom he fights now, nothing changes what he already did achieve.

i'd like to see pacquiao somehow win and then challenge margarito!

there are plenty of guys at 140 i would pick over pac. i'm not even sold on pac at 135 let alone 147. this is a bullshit fight.

  21. LOK

LOK I'll eat your asshole alive

this is the first big fight in a while that I feel like one guy has NO SHOT at winning

I didn't think Hatton had a shot at beating Floyd I guess but this is even worse!

I can not picture a scenario that Pac can win

I agree! the only thing Oscar is losing is the respect of boxing fans. But he stopped giving a fuck about that years ago if he ever gave a fuck.

It's not lose, lose because Oscar takes home a truck load of money either way. However people who think this fight wouldn't hurt ODLH's legacy are flat out wrong. When you handpick a guy like this, you are supposed to win. if you don't people think less of you as a fighter. Oscar has absolutely no bussiness losing this fight.

Shane came from 135 and did it, oscar got hit a lot in his last fight and Manny hit hard. I have been hit by a pro 135er and I am 170 they still have power. Fucker punched me right in the throat. bastard!

Manny vs DLH is the main article at ESPN.com. Finally! It's been a while since boxing was the main story. Even Roy/Calzaghe was a sidebar item.
