Once upon a time, boxing fans salivated at the notion of highly ranked combatants pitting constrasting styles against one another. Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier, “Sugarâ€￾ Ray Leonard-Roberto Duran and Pernell Whittaker-Julio Cesar Chavez all had captivated audiences standing in line, eager to witness the meshing of their fistic approaches. Sadly, as November 22, 2008 nears, virtually noone is anticipating what is undeniably an important jr. welterweight matchup between Ricky “Hitmanâ€￾ Hatton and Paulie “Magic Manâ€￾ Malignaggi. Even HBO, the host network (broadcasting live at 9pm CST), is leery as they’ve placed a guaranteed toe-to-toe slugfest on the televised portion of the undercard.

Seriously, I have no interest in that fight at all. There is a 99.999999% chance that it will be painful to watch. Not just bad, but painful.

Nice piece, Reed baby! Although I think you need to add pictures sometimes to make your work unique from all the rest. Just a thought.

I'm getting a new dog next year and I'm going to name him "Ricky Hatton." So there will be TWO Ricky Hatton's soon. :cheer:

How could there have been "curbed enthusiasm"?

Jim Lampley said "This is the fight that the divison cried out for."

Of course, Merchant wasn't far behind him in the cheerleading..."This is the fight that we all wanted to see anyway."

Great job by the HBO crew last night. :bears:

At least Lennox has improved somewhat.
