Everyone would beat Hatton according to you until the fight actually happens.

It's like Kimba picking against Calzaghe over and over and over.

    Lacy will Ko him easily.

No, Kessler will do it, he's the man. Calzaghe will eat fists all night.

No, B-Hop! B-Hop has what it takes. Calzaghe's as good as dead now.

No, RJJ will knock him senseless. Yeah, that's it. RJJ KO1 Calzaghe!

No, Chad Dawson. He'll beat that BUM Calzaghe for sure!

I agree. Hatton gives up a lot of advantages when he goes up to 147 but I'd still give him a chance with ODLH. DLH at age 36(will be 36 when fight happens) is NOT Antonio Margarito and he knows it (that's why he's fighting a lightweight champion instead of Margarito). Hatton's very active and hits hard enough to do his own damage. It won't be any kind of a blowout like some here have said.

When you're a strictly go forward fighter like Hatton, you can't possibly move up in weight successfully,.. the only type of smaller fighters who can pull it off are the ones that fight going backwards. That's why fucking Spinks managed to stink the joint out against Taylor and survive to fight another day, whereas Hatton would have to charge in like he does, and outbrawl Margarito... ...and the chance of that.

Huh. Actually i picked Hatton to beat everybody but Floyd. Check the prediction thread i predicted a Hatton UD.

As for Joe C i predicted he would lose to Lacy but that he would beat Kessler and RJJ.

De la has too much power for Hatton, even Floyd Sr pretty much admitted that De la would beat Hatton.

I didn't say I'd give him a chance against Margarito. That would be a suicide mission.

I said I'd give Hatton a decent chance against a 36 year-old DLH. Some people are saying that would be an easy one sided stoppage fro Oscar. I don't see it that way at all. I'd put my prediction record up against anyone here.

I wish McGirt didn't throw in the towel and they decided after the 12th to extend the fight to a 15 rounder.

The main thing was the pace of the fight....as he said after the fight, he was more patient and that meant he was getting hit with so many silly punches

There was more head movement too....something he used to do quite well but has been absent in recent outings.......overall it was a more thoughtful performance and i don't see any negative impact from Floyd's Sr influence, which i did fear might happen.......Floyd like Billy, clearly wants to see Ricky stick to 140......fingers crossed that Manny causes the upset...Hatton-Pacman is a much better fight than Hatton-DLH

Hatton can't fight above 140; horribly declined though the bastard De La disgrace is, he'd walk through Hatton at 147.

Hell, even Collazo almost did so.

Collazo was a crafty southpaw with more of a slick style. Totally different scenario. I agree, Hatton doesn't blong at 147 but against DLH I'd give him a good chance.

He has in the past and he's coming down to fight Pac at 147.

You would have to presume the fight would be at 147- at 154 Hatton might be killed...

Not much incentive for DLH to make it at 147, then.

    He's fighting Pac at 147?

    Thanks for the update.

To be honest, the result at 147 wouldn't be much dfferent, IMHO, and I can't see any feasible way that Hatton makes it to 154...

Doesn't have to be at 154 to be above 147.

  23. meetthefeebles

Let me put it this way then; against Floyd, Hatton only managed to weigh in at 145. I can't imagine how he might possibly reckon he could force his way to even a catchweight of, say, 150 :dunno:

Are you trying to tell me that you think that, if that fight happens, it will be above 147?

Fucking hell, Guido really was like an octopus last night. How he could criticise Hatton for holding, then put on a performance like that is a disgrace.

  25. Mitchell Kane

Mitchell Kane WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

I'm saying, If I'm DLH, yeah I might agree to come to 147 for a guy coming up from 135.

But Hatton's only coming up from 140 and has already fought at 147...so I wouldn't make the same concessions to him, even if I am his promoter.

  26. Xplosive

Its a shame. Paulie had earned alot of ppls respect in the Cotto fight, but I think he just lost it all last night. That was disgraceful. It was worse than Chavez-Camacho, cause Hector took a worse ass whuppin than Paulie did but he attempted to fight back more than did Paulie.

Paulie is a cool guy, but last night showed that he's not a top fighter and that he's already reached his ceiling in boxing. He should prob retire. I could see him making for a good analyist.

As for Hatton, he looked good but he's still not what he once was. If it was the Hatton of 4 years ago McGirt would have had to throw in the towel alot sooner to avoid Paulie getting hurt bad.

Hatton will lose to DLH, and I wouldnt be surprised if he lost to Pacman, or Marquez either. And I think Tim Bradley would take him now too.

    pretty dissapointing

Malignaggi has such crap reflexes and defence :shit: i don't think he would have even been able to outbox someone like Arturo Gatti of 6 years ago

i'd like to see Judah fight Malignaggi at 140, that'd be interesting
