Do you think it will hurt PACMANin terms of his fanbase and getting bigger fights down the road. I am happy for Roach and Pacman cashing in on the DLH express. Pacman deserves the money, but if he gets bashed do you think fights against HATTON or other name fighters will still be a decent option. I just hope Pacman doesn't get hurt. I am only tuning in to support Pacman and on the 10% chance he will pull an upset.

what do you mean with destroy?

IMO Pac doesn't have the chin to take to many of DLH punches..so he really won't take much punishment...

His reputation might be hurt a bit..but everyone knows(i hope) that he is moving up a ton of weight to fight one of the best fighters of the last 20 years.....if he puts up a brave fight he will gain more respect from defeat than he has from all his great victories..

What worries me is if he comes in at 147 or close to that weight..and puts on a lil muscle. Will he be able to lose all that weight to return to 135 correctly...

people can always say 147 was too much of a jump for him, and sell him at 140 against Hatton

There's a 30% chance he pulls one and i'm with you on the HOPE bandwagon! :partie:

That being said the only chance a raping won't hurt his drawing power is when he shows great warrior abilities and dishes out his own share of punishment.

His fanbase is big enough to take a cheap shot imo and his status in the philippines probably remains what it is anyways...

after DLH i think he'd need a tune-up at 140 first, and look big, strong, and fast agains them...people will talk about how he handles 140 well....then a fight with Hatton would sell

Did DLH's fanbase abandoned him or did he didn't get anymore lucrative fights after Hopkins humilliated and raped him? Nah! Pacquaio has been defeated before and he has bounced back to the point that today he largely regarded as #1 P4P. Of course he will lose that mythical title, but who cares? Every few months or so someone new will be #1 P4P.

DLH is different.Normal rules don't apply. DLH taking a shit in a boxing ring sells more than most other fighters.

Well, everybody knows that this fight is a mismatch to start with and that Pacman will be lucky if he hears the final bell. His die hard fans will not abandon him since they know he has almost zero chance of winning. Of course, if he pull a miracle upset he will be regarded as the second Messiah.

And if he dies, they will dissect him and start a cottage industry with Manny's parts. Manny is already like a living saint to his countrymen.

I think 10% is generous brother Ike..

    But..

I think Manny could get stretched in 2 and still have a fight with Hatton.. And WIN!

I think after getting stretched they should match him with a couple lower level.. smaller guys and let him get his confidence back.. then a big showdown with Hatton

Losing alone won't hurt his status too much, although a loss isn't good in boxing for anybody no matter who the opponent is. (mostly from a mainstream appeal)

If Manny is competitive and entertaining he'll be ok.

I'm not sure "mainstream appeal" should be used anymore in reference to boxing, outside of Oscar De La Hoya.

Perhaps, but once you fight Oscar and are featured on 24/7 you get at least a piece of that mainstream action.

I think the 24/7 effect is probably over-stated.

Could you project that into some ppv numbers for a Hatton-Pacquiao main event next year for me?

Frankly, I think DLH should just fight Bobby Pacquiao in December and see if anyone cares.

It wouldn't be as big, but yes Oscar could pull in numbers fighting "joe the plumber" too.

They shouldn't make any formal announcement before the fight, but when the ring walk music starts, they should have Bobby walk out instead.

I bet the mainstreamers who watched 24/7 (or not) wouldn't notice the difference unless it wasn't pointed out to them.

Pacs chin is pretty damn good. It's pretty obvious that he was KO'ed in lower weights because of making weight. Oscar is going to have to put a real beating on Pac to KO him, and to me Pac is a man who is willing to die in the ring.

N the RE w/JM Marquez, Manny Pac was HURT & was Even RELUCTANT To Boldly Wade In on him...

If Marquez can EARN Manny Pac's RESPECT, DeLa can STRETCH him...1 FLUSH Left Hook just MIGHT Do it...@ Worst, 1 FLUSH Left Hook will HURT Manny Bad Enough to Where Only 1 or 2 More Shots will B Necessary to Finish him Off...

Also, Manny's KO Loss was a BODYSHOT...Weight Troubles or Not, he COULD B SUSCEPTIBLE in the Body...

    I agree here..

if I'm DLH's crew.. I dont even advise circleing and boxing.. I'd go right at him and stretch him

I just can not see DLH landing a clean left hook and Pac not going to sleep

Like Neil Said, Forbes has Fought BIGGER Men than Pac has & Forbes Himself is BIGGER than Manny Pac...

Unless Manny Plans on SUBSTITUTING Steve Forbes on Fightnight, Forbes has NATHAN to Do w/This...

He has alot to do with this. Go look up the De la Hoya-Forbes prediction list. Everybody figured lil Forbes would be KTFO.
