When Hatton loses 11 rounds against someone in his own weight class (though Calzaghe actually came up to that weight this year) I'd put him in the same boat as RJJ (right NOW not career wise). I don't see that as a good comparison for now though. Jones is approaching 40 and isn't even 50% of what he once was. That's when you can throw around words like "shot." Hatton's 30 and lost a liittle bit of hand and foot speed. I don't see him near "shot" yet.

That's because he is not as shot as Jones, Radioman. Jones is SHOT, Hatton is just "borderline" shot, or badly declined.

Right now there's a chance he could lose to someone like Bradley. A few years ago, no way.

I'm watching the fight right now, and what MTF says is true.

Hatton DOES look a lot better than against Lazcano, but you can still see his speed, accuracy, energy and workrate are not what they were.

A few years ago, Hatton would have blitzed Paulie by the halfway point.

    Precisely

I didn't say Hatton was shot. Never have in fact, and I'd agree that he's still the man to beat at 140 until someone there actually beats him.

But he is declined badly enough to be considered borderline shot IMHO.

A few years ago, I'd pick Hatton to beat the crap out of any of the other 'top' guys at 140. Now, I'd pick him, but he could conceivably lose to any of Bradley, Holt or Torres. Perhaps even Kotelnik (who is generally underrated)

The comparison with Jones is a loose but valid one...Jones is still competitive against B level guys and would still beat C level guys even though he is shot to ribbons, because at his peak he was so good. Hatton is still competitive and capable against B-Level guys, because he was so much better than them at his peak.

(before anyone jumps in with the obvious, I am well aware that RJJ at his best was miles better than Hatton at his...)

    MTF

It is now proven that at 140 lbs Hatton would KO Floyd senseless, shit onhis chest and bite his dick off

Either his hands were hurt or he is scared of hurting his hands. Either way, he just came there to survive. Paulie never tried to win.

I think Buddy mCGIRT should be investigated. He put money on the under guaranteed.

Malignaggi is a good fighter or was. How many right hands did he throw against Hatton? I still think he is a good fighter. He has good skills and handspeed. His lack of natural power and his brittle hands will keep him from ever being elite. You never used the word knockout and it was hardly a beating. It was lopsided but Paulie wasn't hurt except for the second round.Surely, you must be good at something except being a fluffer for the local male hip hop band?

Thats just a lie. Paulie is not good at all. Never was. If Herman Ngoudjo can beat you, you're a long way down the rung.

let's see JL Castillo vs. Paulie. Good u/c fight - nice mesh of styles. Given the beatings Paulie's taken, I'd say it's a pick em. That is if JLC can make 140.

why? too slow? he knows how to deal with one-handed fighters. and is good at cutting the ring off.

when it comes to paulie, he's a tough kid but let's be real - he's just not that good. what does he bring? a left jab and some grabbing. castillo would be perfectly comfortable in the ring with paulie.

you talking about ngoudju and hatton? he was competitive with hatton until hatton touched his liver. and ngoudju he beat - couldn't hurt him but landed the cleaner punches. but if you ask me ngoudju is better than paulie.

forgot about the lujan debacle. but lujan's pretty tough and managed to push tony back. he'd destroy paulie.
