That photo is receiving a lot of comments. Someone mentioned it looked like he was swinging an invisible purse ...

ha ha ha ha ha ha !!!! he hit him with his back hand - and that's his left hand - supposed to be his healthy one. this guy is awful. i doubt he could beat anyone at 140. all he's good for is taking beatings.

  12. A couple of questions.

Who were you shooting for? Who did you sell them too? How was getting accreditation? Was your shooting position randomly assigned? Were you using a 300 or a 400? Did you think about setting up any remotes? Canon or Nikon?

Earl - he is using a Nikon D200, shooting at around 1/320 of a second, with an ISO of 1600.

Surprising actually, I thought they would look grainer than that.

    Who were you shooting for?
    * FightWireImages
The gallery is below. It is mixed with mine and photos from Chris Cozzone. Chris was ringside, I was auxiliary.

Who did you sell them too?
    * Several of my photos have already sold to ESPN and The Ring Magazine.

    How was getting accreditation?
    * Through the media agency handling the fight.

Was your shooting position randomly assigned?
    * Yes, for the larger fights I am always auxiliary, smaller is sometime ringside.
Chavez vs. Vanda II I was ringside.

    Were you using a 300 or a 400?
    * Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 with a 1.4 teleconverer, about 420mm at f/4.

Did you think about setting up any remotes?
    * no, that is reserved for the the big guys (HBO, Getty, etc)

    Canon or Nikon?
    * Nikon D200. I always shoot RAW and strip some of the noise out in Adobe Camera RAW before converting to .jpg. These are a bit bright, I could have gone to 1/400 and still have a decent image.

I use a Sigma lens too. Great bang for buck.

Well try to make it better from some row up there... :notallthere:

I think they are excellent considering where he was seated, of course ringside will always look better than that.

Ringside is always better but hard to get. It happens every now and again.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Hatton is great !!

when are we finally going to get Hatton vs Cotto @ 140. Ofcourse if Cotto can still make weight that is. but I think he got convinced that 140 might be better for him by that mexican.

  23. Baron

    Baron "Twinkle Toes" McJack

He can't make that weight without weakening himself too much anymore, Cotto will stay at 147. His next fight is at 147.

  24. Segebai

    Segebai Leap-Amateur

well then it is a lose-lose situation for him I guess. because he got dwarfed in his last fight and he will get dwarfed again if he fights people like Cintron and Margarito etc. and I doubt any puerto rican will be mentally okay after repeated beatings by Mexicans .

  25. Baron

    Baron "Twinkle Toes" McJack

That's boxing dude, you do the best of what you have. I like watching Cotto and I don't care if he loses again even though I'll root for him no matter who he fights. He'll challenge himself and this is what boxing should be about, not hiding in a weak division because you want to keep an unbeaten record as long as possible...

Personnally, I think he'd beat Cintron. I agree that he'll probably lose to Margarito again and would lose to Williams, but I'll watch these fight anyway if they get made.

    Segebai Leap-Amateur

no no you are getting me wrong. I am not sayin he should hide in a weak division for an unbeaten record. I am saying he should fight in the division that his body is made for. but if he is too heavy to make 140 comfortably then I think in this day and era he is pretty much screwed. he is good enough to beat most @ 147. but he's too small to beat the fighters that are equal in skill/talent. they will dwarf him and beat him down.

imo he should beat Cintron and Williams easy. but their size might give them the edge they need. and yes I would watch these fights and root for him too.

He doesn't have a choice. He can no longer make 140. And the only 2 people that would beat him at 147 are Marge and Tall Paul.

He would beat Cintron easily because Cintron is crap, but he would beat Williams easy?

If you thought he was dwarfed by Marge, wait till he gets in the ring with Tall Paul, who in turn, dwarfed Marge.

Paul is too big for Cotto, and too busy. I like Cotto a lot, but I think his chances are fairly minimal against Paul, who has a very high workrate, an excellent chin, and is fucking huge.
