Brother Illusv; Good to see you. I actually had the same problem exactly. I switched to fairtex which are kickboxing gloves and my hands don't hurt. I actually switched to Everlast 12oz gloves and they murdered my hands.
Are you serious?I don't ever remember him being like that. He is a really cool guy. He and Callie were very nice people and I am sorry it didn't end well for them.
Free Ike..it's been a long time :) thanks for letting me know bro. I will see if anyone local has these and I will check them out.
Aren't you guys using wraps? I use Ringside gloves and never had a problem, plus I use bigger Oz. for heavybag :dunno:
I seriously have shitty mayweather hands Its more then worth the money to feel the huge difference from wearing them
a lot of times I just wrapped my hands for the heavy and speed bag.. or maybe bag gloves and wraps.. I still gotta dig out my gloves to see what kind they are.. they are my fav
Tyler there is no way I can workout without wrapping my hands with Mexican style wraps...occasionally I get lazy and I put on the everlast GELs... I use Ringside gloves as well with zero problems... I just assumed that Everlast is better than Ringside which is why I made the switch.
Actually, I had everlast before ringside and liked ringside better. If I remember right, ringside has a few styles for the front portion of the fist.
I also use velcro Everlast wraps. It reduces your power significantly, but it is great for bagwork. My hands never hurt anymore.
I have 12 and 16oz, I like 16oz alot better and if you have hand problems, no worries. 16oz seems to make my hands faster on other bags.....or so it seems.
These are the 16 oz I have.... http://www.ringside.com/detail.aspx?ID=25878 They are expensive, but I think this is what you are looking for as far as protection. I've had mine for a few years, still good as new.
thanks for the link and price is pretty good. The Everlast put me in enough pain that I am willing to fork up the money for the winning gloves I think the MGS-200 are the ones Pacman, Oscar and Joe Cal. were wearing on 24/7 (not 100% sure though) check it out http://www.winning-usa.com/products.html
Winning are overpriced pieces of shit. People claim they are the best but what are they going to say after paying $200 for a pair of gloves to hit the bag with? You people should check out some title equipment. It's the best for the frugal minded among us. http://store.titleboxing.com/gloves-training-gloves.html
To say winning gloves are pieces of shit and then suggest title gloves is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard all title gloves are, are shitty everlast gloves with a T on them
Got these from there a while back....good gloves...for hitting the bag...add some Gel hand wraps and you good...
What I meant is that they are shit for a $200 pair of gloves. There are different brands of super high quality gloves for less than half the price. Title is just the value king. If value doesn't matter then sure, go ahead and get some winning gloves. If winning gloves cost $89.99 then yes, I would say they are good. But when you put them at $200 then fuck them, I call them overpriced pieces of shit.
IMO they are hands down the best gloves u can use, if there was a for me to have avoided owning them, i would have and if they werent really that good, i wouldnt even tell people to use them title is the exact same thing as everlast, stuff is terrible
I use 16oz on monday, wed and sunday and 12 on the other days. My hands hurt after using the gloves. Since I haven't sparred in 4 or 5 years, I hit the bag only, so I use the pillows. I think it fucks up my already fucked up technique, so I switch to the 12 so I can feel which knuckle is landing where. The 16oz is a pillow.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. going the Title route will put me in the same place I am now. I am still surprised how a $50 ringside gloves wear better than a $90 Everlast (same weight and type) I e-mailed winning and this is what I found out (what they used on 24/7) MS-500/14 oz. Pro Gloves for a sparing. MS-300/10 oz. Pro Gloves for the punching and mitts.
