Im willing to bet you anything you like that Darchinyan couldn't phrase that if he worked five years on it. He has Miranda's publicist.

let's be honest though Vic has improved is not like he is the same fighter now that he's always been.

Against Mijares I didn't see him do that retarded crab like walk in the ring. He seemed faster and more skilled.

He also seemed to out think Mijares alot during the fight. Mijares is a damn good boxer and Vic beat him on every category.

Vic's improvement and Arce's decline will be a big reason why Darchinyan will stop him fast.

A few years ago it's a different fight.

This is a different fight TODAY than people think. Darchinyan isn't going to walk over Arce in a couple of rounds.

Arce is tough and proud and I think that will help him last more than what he should but 3 years ago this fight would have been awesome.

It still will be. The guys who have been giving Arce trouble lately have been showing him angles and a little bit of counter punching. Jorge will be able to hit Darchinyan...should be a very good fight, IMO and very competitive, simply based on the styles of both guys.

You have to admit, it's pretty funny the way the publicists release these very professional, witty, eloquent letters, and we're supposed to believe the fighters wrote them.

Especially in cases where one has seen the fighter interviews, and they clearly have the IQ of a fencepost.

This would apply if it was a few years ago, but Arce is basically shot. He doesn't have the punch resistence he used to, or the punch output, energy etc. I think he's lost some steam on his punches too.

Basically he's borderline shot, and Vic appears to be at his peak.

He might not dispatch Arce in 2 rounds, but I would be surprised if Arce saw the second half of the fight.

I don't see it. These days the term "borderline shot" is crimanally over-used. Arce is simply fighting bigger men now. He's slowed down a bit, thats natural, but "shot"? No way.

The guy was a light fly at his best, where his size was astronomical and he was able to power over guys with ease. He was a skeleton at the weigh ins, but ould rehydrate some 15-20 pounds at those weights, which is ridiulously rare.

Now? 115 is a huge difference. Lookmahanek was huge guy in their fight. Same with Mijares. Both of these guys were used to fighting bigger men then midget ass Arce. Like Hatton, without his strength advantage Arce is just far less formidable.

Tam, he looks like shit, he looks slower against these bigger men, with less punch output, and a worse chin.

    He looks less sharp too.

It's not unfounded, for example, have you not read about Arce's binge drinking, and party lifestyle? It would certainly explain his decline. Just like Hatton's eating and drinking, it takes it's toll. It doesn't mean a fighter is SHOT shot, like Vargas shot, just significantly declined.

By the way, I don't disagree that size has something to do with it, as like Hatton - Arce has always been about manhandling his opponents, and using his strength etc. But regardless of the opponent/weight class etc you CAN tell when a fighter has simply deteriorated, and is less sharp, less fast, throws less punches, has slower reactions etc etc. Like Hatton with Lazcano, he looked like shit, and it certainly wasn't because Lazcano was bigger, or a great fighter.

Arce is fighting bigger guys, but don't doubt that he has declined significantly too, and like I said, probably for similar reasons to hatton's decline. High energy fighters + bad lifestyle = pretty short prime.

Or, having declined, and drinking too much etc

You're telling me that Arce's lifestyle, of too much drink and partying really has NOTHING to do with him looking like shit recently?

No, I don't really. But why guess? I don't worry about all that outside of the ring stuff. Thats for emo's. Fighters fight and as I fight fan, I look at the stuff in the ring. Arce's regression looks exactly like I'd expect it to, as he goes up in weight and age.

Right, so other than being more disinterested these days, why isn't Pacman struggling with bigger men?

I don't concern myself with out of the ring activities either. I'm just going by brief information that's cropped up about Arce, that it seems to be common knowledge that Arce drinks a lot, and parties a lot.

Just as it is common knowledge that hatton drinks and eats a lot between fights.

And Tam, I am not a retard, I can tell the difference between struggling with someone bigger, and just looking shit.

For example - against Collazo - despite it being his second toughest and closest fight ever, he DIDN'T look shot there. He looked like the same hatton, just very unsuited to 147, his usual style struggling badly against a decent welterweight. He certainly didn't look borderline shot though.

Against Lazcano, a smaller opponent, he DID look borderline shot. He looked significantly less sharp, sloppier, less busy, with worse punch resistence. So with Lazcano, quite clearly the reason wasn't because he was fighting a bigger man than he was used to.

Same with Arce. Arce has looked like shit since Mijares, despite winning his fights he's looked WORSE than when he lost every round to Mijares.

Because he is fighting bigger men than Mijares? No, because he's approaching shotness.

It's actually quite logical and not exactly a far out theory, when it comes to fighters that let themselves go a bit between fights.

Boxers are highly tuned athletes, guys that take care of themselves between fights last longer and are more consistent.

For example, compare them to a Formula 1 car. If between races, you did a shitty servicing job, used cheaper products etc, do you think it's going to perform as well in the next race?

Why isn't Pacquiao struggling? I swear not 6 months ago, YOU were saying the same things about Pacquiao. LIfestyle, no fire...blah blah blah.

Besides, Pacquiao is a GREAT fighter. An all-timer. Jorge Arce is not close.

No No No, I never said lifestyle. With Pacman it's all psychological.

And I maintain everything I said about Pacman. He has lost his fire, he does look disinterested.

The difference is, Pacman is so fucking good, he is still winning his fights with ease.

And yeah I know, more often than not fighters do struggle, that wasn't a good example, people like Duran and Pacman are pretty much exceptions to the rule.

But what about my Collazo/Lazcano example?

If this type of decline, where a fighter looks less sharp, with lower workrate, lower punch resistance etc, is purely down to the size of the opponents, then why did Hatton look worse against Lazcano? He looked like shit in that fight.

And like I said, I can tell the difference. Against Lazcano at no point did I think "hatton is borderline shot" - which is what I currently think about both Arce and Hatton.

Against Collazo, he just looked to be struggling with a bigger fighter, against Lazcano it was completely different. He just lost all his speed and sharpness, and energy, he looked crap.

Similar with Arce. Against Mijares - again - I didn't think he looked borderline shot at all. He just got schooled by a bigger, better fighter. It's SINCE Mijares that arce has gone down hill badly.
