Top opponent or not, Pacman is a featherweight, Oscar is a welterweight, simple as that. The natural difference in size is just too much, Oscar is a twat for even wantign to fight Manny.

No, we expect Oscar to stop a guy who has been stopped fighting at 112 lbs!

It's being talked about a lot in the British press.

Here's a snippet from one article:
I don't know that I really see DLH looking for an early stoppage...unless his jab, by itself, is having tangible effect on Pacquiao.

If Pac tries to be hard to hit, I can see DLH pacing himself.

Didn't the talk of this fight originate with Larry Merchant?

I blame Merchant for even bringing it up...and everybody who pays for it...as much as I do DLH.

And Floyd Mayweather's retirement and Hatton's already having a fight scheduled are part of the reason DLH scrambled for the next smallest draw.

I know all about the DLH-Hatton talk...was tongue in cheek since Ricky's with Golden Boy as well. It's especially interesting because Ricky turned down a fight with Oscar previously.

I thought Merchant was the first one to ever mention DLH-Pacquiao.

I think it was in a Dan Rafael interview....or maybe it was on Maxboxing.

The first time I remember reading it was in Rafael's blog, detailing a discussion he had with Merchant. Maybe it previously appeared on Max, but I'm sure more people will recall first reading about it on ESPN.

But wow, this is the first I heard of people not being even remotely familiar with the Merchant backdrop for this fight. Schaefer and Arum have "joked" about it at every press conference, in every interview... I'm kind of surprised the fight isn't for the Merchant Money Grab Welterweight title.

I think the Rafael piece was where it got the most publicity, but I don't know, I thought he might've said it earlier on Maxboxing.

Either way, I've already made plans for Saturday night so I won't be witnessing Larry's little match-making moment come to fruition.

Jake, to be honest I've been pretty pissed off with this fight since it became back "on". Therefore I've steered clear of the coverage, I haven't even seen the 24/7 episodes.

    as a teenager.

Manny has not been hurt against great fighters in the past few years. Yes there is a two division gap here, but lets not pretend this is unheard of. Oscar will be significantly larger, which matters, but it would matter even more if he was KO type of guy. But he isn't, he's a boxer/boxer-puncher, and I find it hard to believe he's gonna walk through Pacquiao lefts to get inside. I mean, Whitaker had success by throwing a left hand in there every now and then, its not like Oscar threw the kitchen sink at him. So I just see a different fight from the rest of us apparently, mostly because of how highly I regard Manny....the mexican killer.

Manny is a GREAT fighter. Don't get me wrong, but he's losing and he's getting stopped. I have no doubt.

Walk through Pacquiao lefts? His jab is about half a foot longer than Marquez's.

DLH ought to be ashamed for taking this fight.

My prediction, DLH by decision or late stoppage.

    My hope, what Jake said.

I'm hoping beyond all hope that Manny drops Oscar repeatedly with his sneaky straight left on route to a fantastic upset KO!

    :partie:

(but my Oscar TKO 5 prediction still stands...)

    DLH UD

If Pacquiao gets a flash knockdown then his mission will be complete. I'm sorry, this fight is just stupid. At his lightest DLH was 130. That's still a weight class HEAVIER than when Pacquio first became a bigtime name by beating MAB!

Pacquiao winning this kind of fight would be monumental, be it against a faded DLH or not. It would be a true accomplishment. That's the angle they shouldv'e sold this at, nothing more or less. Seriously, this does nothing for Oscar except make more money, duh!

LOK AND DOUBLE L Both pick DLH. Has there ever been a fight when these know nothings both picked the correct fighter?

I think Hoya is gonna do something that he forgot to do for large parts of the mayweather fight...and thats to use his jab...i really think Hoya will win this fight with surgical precision...he looks in amazing shape from what i have seen on those 24 7 shows

he is gonna get one back for the mexicans...this one is for ethnic pride

My feeling is, if this fight lasts 12, Pacquiao wins. If it ends early, DLH wins.

there is actually a 3-4 division gap and you have the audacity to compare pacquaio to whitaker. they're both left handed, that is where the comparison ends. ridiculous analysis.
