i thought greene was a middleweight? anyways, i've seen him a few times, but he's nothing spectacular. he does seem to have decent power though.

i'd rather see martinez vs. williams.

Would you rather see that or Dzinziruk-Williams?

He's slowing down quite a bit. I don't think he's looked that good since he beat Santos up.

A much better fight (even if less competitive) than the first back-up plan floated, which had Green fighting Peter Quillen. Either that, or I read the press release wrong and they were fighting separate bouts in a doubleheader.

Doesn't matter, Greene gets his ass kicked, regardless of which one he fights.

    I didn't hear about this.

Kid Chocolate is supposed to be fighting James McGirt Jr. in January, if I'm not mistaken.

    Kid Chocolate beats Green.

Martinez vs. Green is a teriffic fight, if you ask me. I don't think as highly of Green as others (I don't think much of him at all), but he throws punches. This fight will be lots of fun.

He's never been dropped and only hurt once.

He was rocked by some scrub on ESPN2 a few months ago. Forget the opponent's name, though.

But beyond that, has he even fought anyone to where he'd have any business on the canvas? I guess you can argue Echols, but as shot as he is, he doesn't even boast a puncher's chance in most fights these days.

Is Antwun Echols the most shot fighter ever on TV, who can actually claim that failed state as a pun?

I don't think getting rocked in a fight that he dominated means his chin is suspect. He even came back a little in that round too.

I agree... it's basically still a question mark more so than questionable. I was just saying, he really hasn't fought anyone to where we should even yet know anything about his chin. Par for the course for a prospect on the way up, I suppose.

I don't get the Martinez love. It was Alex Bunema who isn't even a fringe contender's fringe contender.

I like Greene, Quillin, and Martinez. Hard fight to call no matter the matchup, imo.

Martinez is awesome and it didn't take an Alex Bunema to realise it. You just had to watch him before hand.

Yes, he's your pet project. Who is the best guy he's fought? I mean, however good he is, it's still Alex Bunema and that leaves plenty of questions. Like my guy Maidana, for instance.

I'd rate Antonio Margarito higher than Alex Bunema, just quietly. Richard Williams too.

Im not denying he's relatively untapped as far as opposition and question marks go....but I do think he's hot shit none-the-less.

I should have said beaten. I liked Richard Williams, too. Until he started losing. Probably to Martinez, haha.

He's been hurt several times and nearly lost early in his career.

Legitamately hurt? Besides that one time, I don't think so.

And by near-loss, was that the four rounder when he was 4-0?

Yep. The one where he spent the last two rounds on the ropes looking exhausted and getting battered.

Yeah. He won three rounds in that fight. The third was close, but went his way. That's all you need in a four rounder.

Ali got dropped hard in his fourth pro fight. It was so bad that Gil Clancy and Howie Albert, who were both in the corner with Angie Dundee, had to switch roles. Dundee looked like he was about to have a heart attack in the corner. Clancy called over to Albert and said, "Howie, you take care of the fighter, and I'll take care of Angie." Ali went on to become a halfway decent fighter after that.

I don't want to compare Kid Chocolate to Ali, but judging someone too harshly off of one sluggish performance is a bit too much.

I've done it too though after Berto looked like crap in his fourth pro fight. I still don't think much of Berto, but I was predicting that he'd see a loss or two on his record within his first twelve fights.

EDIT: Woah...all three instances were in their fourth fight. Weird.

Agreed. However I wasn't really trying to say anything about him. Just pointing out he has been hurt more than once, which he certainly has. Quillin is a pretty tough nut to crack. We'll see if he can advance his career further.
