    Forget 147.

I know it isn't wise for a fighter to gain weight, move up...and then move back down...ala Roy Jones.

But personally...I would advise Manny to return to lightweight for a while and live at 135. A much more natural weight for him.

Lightweight is a verrry prestigious weight division that Manny should be able to dominate for a couple years or so......and THEN move back up to 140.

My guess is that he is going to opt to face Hatton at 140.

Based on most recent performances....imo, that would not be the best move for Manny.

Hatton is too much risk for too little reward for Manny Pac at this point.

Too little reward? Besides Mayweather, Hatton is the biggest reward out there.

He should stay at 140...fight Hatton immediately..next fight if possible....

    Really?

I think that now that Manny is where he is........HE will be demanding more money than ever. And he doesn't need Hatton to do that.

Disagreed. Hatton is the biggest financial reward for Pacquiao of anyone at 135 and 140.

Hatton looked alright against Malignaggi, but Malignaggi can't punch, and Hatton is seen by pretty much everyone as being on the decline. He might lose to someone else if Pacquiao stays at 135.

remember when he first beat Barrera and people were saying that a style like his will only last him a few years?

i think if he beats Hatton and retires there'll be little more to ask of him

I don't know. I think everybody involved is going to make a huge push for Hatton-Pacquiao next year.

It's arguably the biggest fight out there (not involving a Mayweather return).

Pac vs. Hatton not Manny best move? WHY NOT???? what recent events are you talking about?

Too much risk/too little reward?..Hatton is still a good name and ready for the taking....what is he going to do? Go back to 135 fight Marquez probably win/lose another close decision(lose both imo) for HALF the MONEY he would get vs. HATTON

Hey,..I would list Manny as the favorite based on last night. But everyone must realize that Oscar was but a faded shell of his former self.

Nothing about DLH last night resembled anything we ever saw from him.

Let us not get carried away. Oscar put up absolutely NO resistance at all.

I can see Ricky ruing in and taking a left cross to the Jaw. Hatton is chinny too. If Manny can hurt DLH who has a good chin, he can smash Ricky's glass Jaw. Ricky has good foot and hand speed but nothing compared to Pacman he is Cintron.Pacman is in legendary status sould he kayo Hatton.

Actually IMO Pacquiao can campaign at both 135-140 simultaneously...what Roy Jones and Antonio Tarver(rocky movie) was crazy..going up 20-30 point and lose it in a few months..:kick:

Other than Hatton and PBF, who are the big pay day matchups for Pacquaio at this point??

You can forget about a Valero fight. You can even forget about JMM 3. Those fights are out of Pac's league now. He definitely wouldn't take on one of those guys for a tuneup fight either. It's pretty much Hatton or a tune up for 2009.

Agree with all that...Oscar was a SHELL..even more than in the Mayweather/Mayorga fights.....

but Hatton has lose alot of steam ever since the Mayweather fight..and was getting tag nicely by Lazcano in England...and was in some trouble before the ref stop the action for some bullshit...

Dominate lightweight... that would be the same lightweight division where the leader (Marquez, incase you forgot) is thisclose to owning two wins (however so narrow) over Pacquiao, correct?

But I can see where Manny should forget about a $10-15 million payday against Hatton and instead pursue a third Marquez fight for probably half as much. He can then follow up with a fight against the Nate Campbell-Ali Funeka winner for even less.

What Manny Pacquiao should do, realistically, is to retire and enjoy being worshiped as the deity he is now in the Philipines!

Do you really think Pacquiao will go all the way down to 130 again to fight the Valero's and JMMs? I don't.

MAYBE 135, but if he fights Hatton for a title at 140, it will be less likely.

Pacquaio's 2009 schedule will most likely be Hatton, then tune up or tune up, then Hatton.

And then back to 130. Maybe Robert Guerrero will finally have his legal issues sorted out w/ Goossen by then and will be ready for a fight. Perhaps even give Rocky Juarez one more chance at rendering his career relevant.

So much more to do than risk it all for slave wages against Ricky.

Styles make fights. I'm a firm believer in that.

Hatton is bigger and stronger at 140 than Manny is.........and even though he isn't half the overall fighter Manny is, the facts remain.

After beating Oscar........Manny is the MAN. Fighting anyone will guarantee him bigger dollars than ever.

    That is all I'm saying.
