wasn't this supposed to be a farce a fight? with ODH koing Pacquiao the first time he hit him square? i can't help but think a lot of folks here are covering their ass by saying ODH lost on purpose rather than admit that ODH sought out and faced a tough opponent.
:: Bullshit. It just happened that with age and inactivity, DLH's plan of passing up fights with Lightweights as super fights and his "I'm seeking the best challenges" farce backfired him.
So people change their minds when they get proven wrong. That isn't really all that embarassing or even a big deal. In fact, you should try it some time?
I'm waiting for your thread on how pathetic Oscar's effort was last night...kinda like the one you started after Roy faced adversity and managed to go the full twelve against Calzaghe. Oh yeah... Roy knocked down Calazghe more than DLH knocked down Pac and he also managed to win a round. The only 10-8 round in Calzaghe-Jones was scored BY Roy. Can Oscar say the same? We're waiting.
i concede that ODH thought he would be able to knock Pacquiao out. But the proof is in the pudding. That fight was not a farce. I'm not saying ODH wasn't "ducking" Margarito or Williams, but I am saying that the fight was not a farce, as so many claimed it was going in.
It was a farce...most just called it the wrong way. How fitting...Oscar started and made a career out of beating smaller fighters to end his career by getting pummelled by a smaller fighter.
DLH's career has finally come full circle. He even tried to prolong his career by fighting smaller guys. He got humiliated and I enjoyed every minute of that fight. Thanks Oscar!
Yup...if DLH really wanted to "seek the best Challenge" he would fought Margarito/Cotto at his weight......He didn't have to force the lil guy to move up.....shit backfired on him...
I won't lie. I bet on DLH for logical reasons. I never thought the fight was a joke. I however, in a million years, would have bet Pacman to kayo DLH. I am shocked about that. Jaws explained his logic to me why he felt Pacman would win, but I saw his points but disagreed. I am still shocked that DLH got kayoed and quit.

Posted this on 11-18... "Yeah, but as Tam says, size often has little to do with it...especially if a fighter is smaller, but quicker. DLH's legs have been pretty faded in recent years (matter of fact, for a good while). Despite Manny being awkward, sometimes off-balance, and not fully technically sound...I can see this happening. If Manny gets on his toes and uses his very quick feet to jump in and out and bobs and weaves....I think he can get to DLH quite a bit without getting nailed with a big shot. The thing about DLH is that he doesn't "like getting hit". We use that alot when in reality NO boxers likes getting hit, but what that phrase means is that DLH is not the kind of boxer who will 'take one to give one'; and he also freezes up when he gets hit - even with a jab. Those micro-seconds are all Manny needs to look real good doing this for long stretches of the fight. To feel comfortable, DLH has to be dictating the pace and be in control. When he is outspeeded or is in with an unpredictable fighter, he is uncomfortable and isn't the kind of fighter who will launch combinations freely or will exchange proactively. Combine that with the fact that he won't be able to move his feet nearly as fast as Pacquiao; and potential late stamina issues..... And you have a very probable scenario for Manny winning. Not to mention....Manny is going to once again surprise everyone and look pretty big/filled out at the weight. Peace."<!-- / message -->
:: I never made a pick on this one - hell, I barely made it in time to see the fight.... But I didn't think it was going to be as easy as some thought for DLH, I can say that much. Good to hear from you, bro Ugo!
