HBO should have one followup episode AFTER the fight, covering the post-fight press conference, postfight parties and fighters travel back home. Can't understand why the wouldn't since the fight is broadcast on regular HBO the following week.

I would love to see Manny's arrival home NOW instead of waiting until he fights again and having that as part of the promo package.

More importantly, I want to see Oscar's face blown up like Eric Stoltz in "Mask." Wanted to see him taken to the hospital. yes...this is hate, but the idea of covering the postfight activities should be part of the budget.

    Thoughts?

I agree. That's one aspect of the fight game that I wish was covered. They could have followed DLH to the hospital and all that.

It'd have Been a NICE Addition...

On a Side Note, is the Replay Going to B Shown During the Wlad-Rahman Telecast or @ a Seperate Time???...

Since this is such a monumental ass kicking...I'd like to see HBO go back to the mid to late 80's when Merchant and Lampley did a fight recap in a studio with both fighters.

I understand budget reasons but damn...how much does it cost to setup a desk, lights and get fighters via satellite?

(yes...pile on Oscar as much as I possibly can).

didn't they do that for Floyd-Oscar? If I'm not mistaken, they were in studio with Floyd, while Oscar was interviewed live via satellite.

I'm pretty sure they did. It's something they should do more often. That was a one off.

They did that because they believed there would be a rematch.

I think they did it for DLH-Whitaker.

I meant in recent times, it was a one off. In-studio replays were common at one point. Even ABC was in on the act. I remember Michael Spinks and Mike Tyson watching their respective fights on ABC as a build up to their match.

Well, that's not entirely true...Tyson had KO'd Pinklon Thomas, Spinks had just beaten Cooney I believe. the talk was for a unification match, but Spinks didn't want any part of Tyson.

I think that would be a great idea, but i doubt the losers would really feel up to it for obvious reasons.

but if they legally agreed before the fight when they believed they would be victorious....

True, but they could just make themselves a real hassle to deal with and you can't really make them be forthcoming.

That makes for good TV though:lol:

Seriously though, they could focus more on the winner instead. I think even just following the losing fighter from the ring to the tunnel to the locker room (if possible) would be good enough. To hear the conversations would suffice IMO.

I know. I meant in the DLH era.

Lewis-Tyson had a studio recap show, but I don't remember it well enough to remember whether Lewis took part (being the HBO fighter). I don't think he was in studio, maybe he was interviewed beforehand or through satellite.

Probably during it...because when I was looking at the schedule they have a large block of time scheduled for the fight.

If you have HBO East/West, I think it's delayed coverage on the West so there's going to be 4 times to watch Klitschko-Rahman on Saturday.
