When it was MaxBoxing and Boxingscene, the pet name was MaxBoxingScene.

I guess this would make it Max(Sloppy)Seconds :dunno::popcorn:

I hope this doesn't affect my free membership:warning:

Will people be able to say bad things about Frank W###EN?

Only if S/O can say bad things about Bob Arum

But seriously this is a good move. Glad to see the two sites work it out.

Golden Boy is going to buy the web sites and force Jake at gunpoint to write fluff pieces about Oscar.

Well since their supposed merger with boxingscene was so succesful, I'm sure the SecondsOut merger will be a smash!

Good luck to both parties. I said this in the past. I think we need more websites to merge.

There's probably some guy that has a geocities boxing related page you can merge fightbeat with. :bears:

If they have more than 6 members our forums might crash, so sorry!

the biggest problem w/ the Max-BScene "merger" was that it was announced before the contracts were signed (really w/o them ever being signed). As far as I know, this one's official.

It was announced before it was signed was such a major stumbling block? I'm sure there is more than that. Maybe the money wasn't right?

I wonder if we can resurrect the SecondsOut crew again now that there is a forum.

thats not what i'm saying - more so that it was announced as a merger without it being an official merger. it was really an attempted merger.

I know why it didn't work out. I'm just saying that the Max-S/O deal is an official merger, Max-BScene was a premature announcement turned failed experiment.

I see. I think in the end the secondsout deal is probably better for Max anyway. They are very strong in Europe and provide them with more media content for their paying members.

Not certain how it changes things except merging of content. Does anyone forsee Steve Kim travelling around Europe to cover fights?

With Hauser and Kim writing anti-HBO articles bi-weekly...the landscape in boxing is bound to change.

Does anybody know if their name will change? How does this effect Eddie Goldman? :nono:

This is a reunion from House of Boxing, right?

I thought Hauser was there, but I can't remember anymore.

Does Michael Katz still write?

Further details on this project will be released in the coming weeks. Both sites will continue to operate independently at their respective URL’s under the Knockout Entertainment Ltd umbrella.

Unless either site suddenly implements a dress code or a no-beard policy, I'm not sure much changes in his world

To me that's fucking pointless then. Correct me if I'm wrong, but has anybody ever heard of a merger where both companies continue to operate and keep their names?

Our forums members would actually detract visitors to their sites, so they want no part of FightBeat. Besides, they have enough money to steal whoever they need, so no need to merge. :crying:

Yes, when both fall under one parent company (in this case, Knockout Entertainment Ltd).

You're right but has anyone said this publicly?

To further expand on my previous answer...

tons of mergers have gone that route, most notably Google and YouTube. Last I checked, it didn't become GoogleTube or YouGoogle

But that wasn't a merger Jake, they bought youtube for $1.65 billion dollars

I know in the banking industry this is very uncommon also. One bank merges with another and it becomes one name or the other.

Also, Sony and BMG merged an it became Sony-BMG. That happens too. But for both to operate independently seems weird to me.

It was still publicly referred to as a merger. Very few mergers are TRUE merges, where everything is 50/50 going in.

I call it an acquisition. But they are both connected. Still, I see how both parties benefit from the extensive world-wide coverage. I don't see how we benefit other than making it easier to actually access secondsout articles (like if anybody does.)
