If Pacquiao beats Hatton, I'll agree. Floyd needs to come back and beat Pacquiao to keep a higher standing IMO.
Pac...MABx2...Marquezx3...Moralesx3....and the destruction of DE LA HOYA... Mayweather...Corrales...Castillox2....Judah..DLH...Hatton...you can add the bunch of decent but not great guys he fought at 130-147...Genaro...Manfredy....Gatti...Corley.. IMO it's the resume are close...Pacquiao has more GREAT fighters on his resume....
Yeah they are pretty close. I give Mayweather a slight edge overrall becasue of the length of time he's been considered P4P #1 in the sport and his undefeated record. If Pac beats Hatton i think he trumps Floyd though.
As of now Pacquiao isn't ahead of PBF, but if he beats him, he will be. If they go head to head after that, that will be the legacy difference for sure.

I just have a problem with a guy who's best win is Mikkel Kessler being rated in this company. It's only his '0' that has him even in the top 12, IMO. I think I overrate the guy to be honest.
he didn't beat hopkins convincingly. and kessler's ability at this point is strictly presumed. not to mention, hopkins is what, 43? calzaghe's biggest accomplishment was hiring the right manager.
Good point. He didn't have the competition a guy like DLH had but he's undefeated, kinda redeemed his years of forgettable opposition by beating Kessler and Hopkins, he'll probably go down as the greatest 168 pounder ever. I'm not the biggest fan but I give the guy his due, I think he'd be hard to beat for everyone that ever fought around his weight class.

taylor's wins over hopkins were no less impressive than sloppy's. and came years before. kessler. that's basically what sloppy has. and for the most part, kessler's ability is presumed - it's not like he's beaten a bunch of great fighters.
Hopkins was also in his 40's when he beat Tarver, Wright and Pavlik...wins that are a big reason for him being ranked as high as he is (unless he's being ranked exclusively on his middleweight resume). He could still compete at a high level when he fought Calzaghe.
hopkins fights like shit smells. and if he's not doing that, he's pussy-footing in circles doing nothing. i think we shouldn't lose sight of the importance of how a fighter wins. that matters. a lot. hopkins best performance was agaainst tarver. other than that, he's been winning like he's taking a BM on the canvas. that doesn't impress me. i wish a healthy pavlik would rematch him but there's no way his mgmt will allow it.
