pbf's career became a joke and a farce the minute he left 135. after that, he ducked and dodged his way to what he thought would be an impressive win over ODH and a pay-check big enough to retire on. the fact that there is now a light-weight fighting at 147, who beat ODH a lot more convincingly than he did, providing him the opportunity to return to the ring and continue to ignore margarito, williams and cotto, is why, after all this time, PBF is interested in fighting again. his alternative plan of waiting for the top guys to move to 154 is no longer necessary. and the bonus is, he'll have an opponent at 147, perceived as the p4p #1 fighter in the world. and maybe he is. but he's not the best welterweight. everyone with any common sense knows this. ha ha ha. pbf wouldn't even fight Cotto or Mosley. his only chance at redemption at this point is to take the beating we all know he'd sustain if he fought the best welterweights out there.
HE WOULD FIGHT MANNY AT 140 NOT 147 WHICH HE ONLY WEIGHED IN ONCE AT WELTER EVERY OTHER TIME HE WEIGHED 145. THAT IS ONE WEIGHT UP FOR MANNY AND ONE DOWN(BUT NOT REALLY BECAUSE IT'S HIS NATURAL FIGHTING WEIGHT) FOR FLOYD
Weighing anything from 141-147 is welterweight. If he was over 140 he weighed in as a welterweight. You do't have to be at the limit. Oscar weighed 145 for his last fight. I guess he's not a welterweight either.
THE THING IS THAT FLOYD WEIGHED 145 FIGHT NIGHT, WHILE ALL THE OTHER WELTERS WEIGH 160. FLOYD COULD CUT TO ON 140 WITHOUT REALLY TRYING THAT IS WHY I SAY HE IS NOT A WELTER. I HAVE FOUGHT AND HE REALLY SHOULD FIGHT AT 140, ITS HIS NATURAL FIGHTING WEIGHT AND THAT IS ONLY PUTTING ON 5 POUNDS THE DAY OF THE FIGHT. MANNY WOULD WEIGH MORE THAN FLOYD IF THEY FOUGHT.
As a hardcore fan, Im not interested in lil Floyd p4p4p4p$$$$ fighting no names like Margarito, Williams, Clottey, Cotto, etc,.. if he were to fight Paquioa, that is worthy of the general public, it's that apathetic point of view that matters to me, it would be super spectacular and amazingly huge, the build up for p4p4p4p4p4p Floyd verce p4p4p4p4 Pacman is SALIVATING, ANTICIPATED,.. who cares how a Floyd fight with Williams and Margarito would play out,.. they are no names,.. they are not cool, they are not super stars, no one knows them except for a few posters on fightbeat, and that's not what gets me excited, people making money does, it serves me right for.. concerntrating too heavily on boxing,.. ya'll should get off the internet for a bit,.. dis matchup is TOPS.
my guess is pbf will try to make the fight at 147. then he can continue with his false claim that he's ruled 4 divisions, and it will give him yet another excuse to duck margarito, williams and cotto. "i beat the no1 p4p fighter - why should i fight tony? (why should i have to face the best in my division?). that's assuming of course he even manages to beat pacquiao.
Floyd cannot duck Margarito any longer. Margarito is a very very worthy challenger and has proven he deserves to be the first to knock Floyd's head off. Even Floyd fanatics like Reed and sly can no longer deny it.
so why did Floyd spend 20% of his pro career in the welterweight division if he's not a welter? :atu:
Enough to want to fight Hatton at the weight. And he weighed more than the guy he won that fraudulent belt from.
That is not a good way to judge this. You have to do it by how many fights he had at that weight. Shit Jones fought at hw once and did not come back down to lh for a while, does that mean he spent all that time at hw or just one fight?
Uuuuuuuuh, 20% ISN'T Very Large...Certainly NOT Large Enough to PATHETICALLY Cling to, ROBOTO...By Comparison You TROLL 100% of the Time... REED:atu:
I liked the way Fraud introduced a white-bred victorian styled class system to boxing, and annointed, with unyeilding support from his groupies, which fighters were knights of his empire, and which fighters were animal slaves that should be confined to field huts. It goes to show in the end, perhaps just like Margarito and Baldomir, we really are all the same...
