Yeah, but Adamek put him down too.

He was 24 pounds heavier for this fight.

it is not bad, but a rematch ranks a lot higher than the other potential match ups.....Braithwaite's name should be disregarded if the fight vs Enzo was anything to go by

I was just listing the IBF rankings. A rematch would be good, just pointing out that there's some other really good fights in there, IMO.

adamek has a really strong core. that 2nd knock-down, jab-right-hand, was text book.

cunningham better not think he can do what dawson did - he'll be ko'd for sure.

    adamek/tokarev would be a beaut.

A knockdown doesn't mean much when the fighter gets up again, sure, it means a point deduction, but the fight continues.

I thought fights were scored on knockdowns, and go until one man hits the canvas.

Ding A Ling Man should fight Adamek. BJ Flores is boring. It's too bad he beat Wilson.

Well it does in 1863, and it does on Fight Night round 3 'Hard hits' option, it also does when you're a heartbroken Hopkins groupie looking for something to cling to.. but generally it's scored by the round.

    Please. Wilson sucks.

Adamek needs to rematch Cunningham and if he wins, look at Guillermo Jones. That would be a brilliant fight.

Adamek´s defensive liabilities would cost him against Jones.

More than likely. Although Jones' stamina might hurt him if the fight goes rounds as well. Adamek sure is a sucker for a good upercutt though.

Wally Matthews doesn't think there should be a cruiserweight division? That after 175 everyone should fight at heavyweight? Does he think the world is flat, too?

Having to listen to Matthews and Charles was about the only thing wrong with tonight's fight.

Whats wrong with that?... Afterall,.. the heavyweight division is so shitty! shitty! shitty! shitty! shitty! shitty! that Pacman beats em' all up anyway, and with Fraud Mayweather in cooperation with Bernard Hopkins giving birth to the notion of weightlessness, his comment is consistant with the hip new times.

I think he said he's kind of old school because he doesn't believe in the division, though.
Long time to keep your head in the sand, don'tcha think?

Most people continue to sleep on the division, perhaps that's why the top fighters actually end up fighting each other.

Hopkins is still reading from the same trash-talking script:

What a quick response by Hopkins, he must really love the spotlight.

    Joseph Agbeko-William Gonzalez.

Agbeko won the title his last fight...over a year ago against Luis Perez (on the Dawson-Mendoza u/c).

King Kong Agbeko vs William Gonzalez for the IBF bantamweight title.

    Agbeko won via MD.

Cunningham never mentioned to me anything about Hopkins trying to make a fight with him, and we talk regularly.

Awesome fight to be at live. Polish fans are great, but they're way too rowdy. Every fight I've been at where there's been a polish headliner, there has been a big brawl in the stands. Some of us in the media actually plan our exit routes. 2 guys actually began to run out when the first score for Cunningham was read. Sure enough, right behind where they were seated, a really big brawl broke out just then.

Steve isn't much of a puncher. In his three knockdowns, he was trying to punch himself out of a bad situation, and when you're not a puncher, that'll take you nowhere but to the canvas. Plus, from ringside, every flush punch that Adamek landed seemed to hurt Steve. Adamek, the warrior that he is, took some big shots beautifully. In order for Steve to win a rematch, he would have to stink it out a little and go back to using a clinch.

    In regards to his hands....

Steve has only had his hands sore once(After Kelvin Davis). He's never broken them and they aren't fragile. He wears Grant gloves because he has a contract with Grant. BUT, it makes him more comfortable knowing that his hands are safe and he doesn't have another thing to worry about in a fight.

Chris Byrd was with Cunningham. They've been close friends for years.

BJ Flores was there and was rooting for Steve. BJ takes this USA vs Europe thing seriously. He provided some interesting analysis to me.

Guillermo Jones was there. He looked good.

Zab and Daniel Judah were there as well. They were rooting for Cunningham.

Both Adamek and Cunningham were class acts. Watch the post fight presser if you can. They were teriffic. No cameras picked it up, but people from Adamek's team/support group gave Cunningham a gift.

Cunningham needs to worry more about boxing and less about making pizzas.

He sold his pizza place well before this fight was made.

I guess the pizza joint set sail, just like his title.

I think Cunningham is too inactive and it cost him last night. He's a good fighter and should won the fight.
