After seeing Haye against Monte, I now think he has literally 0% chance against either Klit. He looked weak and vulnerable at heavy, even against a not very big, shot heavyweight like Monte. He is not a solid heavyweight. He can't even punch that hard either at heavyweight, his punches didn't seem to have much steam on them. Don't forget this is the same Monte that was KO'd in 2 by Couser.
Well, against Wlad he'd get hit by the jab...repeatedly. Wlad doesn't wait for his opponent, he sets the pace with jabs and hooks and forces his opponent to keep up with him. Against Vitali, because he keeps his left hand lower and relies more on timing, and counters more, he doesn't present the same offensive obstacles. Vitali's harder to hit, better chin, tougher, but I still think he has some things to prove after the layoff...beating a very slow Peter didn't convince he he's the same fighter he was when he left.
You don't have to hit as hard as Brewster to drop or hurt Wlad. Of course brewster didn't land a damn thing in the rematch. I am not saying Haye would win but he has more of a realistic chance against Wlad the Vitali.
Yeah that's fine we disagree. Although if anything the Peter fight doesn't helps anyone's case that Haye has a better chance against Vitali. Vitali forgot to get dropped and rocked I guess like Wlad did.
I guess, but Wlad has only really been hurt or dropped by big punchers, well apart from Peter, who is a pretty average puncher. Corrie Sanders and Brewster are pretty fucking big punchers. Maybe Haye proves me wrong, but I really didn't think he looked like a big puncher at heavyweight. Monte seemed to be basically looking for a spot on the canvas, with shots that just glanced him.
Haye hits faster and harder than Davaryl Williamson. Wlad's ass has been on the canvas so many times people forget about all the guys who dropped him.
Well, I don't know how much we're disagreeing. Haye may have a better chance against Wlad...but I think he gets beaten up worse - meaning takes more punishment - against Wlad. I don't think Vitali pummels him the way I think Wlad probably would. With Peter, I think he's been diminished since that loss to Wlad, and it was easy for Vitali to stand flat footed and just blunt every offensive attempt by just touching him with lefts and rights every time he tried to close the distance.
I dunno, if the opponent represents ANY kind of threat, or even if Wlad THINKS he does, he's content to just jab non stop for round after round. Vitali takes more risks, and lands more power punches. I think Wlad would be more likely to take Haye out quickly and brutally, or make it boring and last a long time, I think Vitali would give Haye a much worse beating and stop him in about 6 rounds.
Well, I'm curious to see where Vitali's timing is at if he fights Juan Carlos Gomez. Wlad's jab is a weapon by itself. Just jabbing round after round from him takes it's toll.
I don't deny that. The jab is fast, accurate, and clearly hard too. But still, it wouldn't bust him up as much as Vitali throwing mainly power punches every round. Just ask Sam Peter.
That's why I wrote the other part. Peter was very easy to find. Vitali's timing wasn't tested by him. Neither was his stamina.
its borderline sad where its gotten to the point where a chinny coward Like Wlad should be a 35-1 favorite against everyone they'll put him in the ring with.
It beats having these scrubs pass the belt around from fight to fight. Can you imagine if the Ray Austins and Kali Meehans were the champs??? Cruiser is the new heavyweight division.
Tyson should hook up with Kevin Rooney and get his head movement back then he'll be ready to take out Klitschko.
...... Peter was no worse or better than when he fight Wlad. He was the same plodder bum he's always been. People can go on and act like Wlad is some unbeatable monster if they want but I don't really see it. I see a guy who has dominated some trashy competition lately. He hasn't fought a guy with damaging handspeed for quite some time. He's fought lots of plodders or featherfists. Stylewise Haye has a punchers chance against Wlad. I don't think Wlad can be so predictable with his jab against Haye either. Of course if he slips a right hand or hook in there the fight can be over quick because Hayes chin is garbage to. Regardless, I give Haye a punchers chance against Wlad and no chance against Vitali.
I didn't watch this fight but I know exactly what it looked like. I really want to see Wlad get knocked cold. He is boring as shit.
Obviously Wlad isn't unbeatable. I'm just glad that he improved to a point where it will take a good fighter to beat him. Sadly, that's all we need to have a dominant champion. When the next crop of great heavys come around, hopefully Wlad and Vitaly will be reigning and surrender their crowns.
No no no no, you dont get what 'dominant champion' means,.. it isnt someone who wins almost every round and knocks out thier opponent on a very very regular basis.
wladimir was once a fluid puncher who knew how to place combinations. now he just fights w/ a consistent style which makes him effective and hard to hit but boring as fuck to watch. his jab is his best weapon, but he's still apprehensive to time his right hand. did he even throw a single punch to the body? there were times where rahman was dead against the ropes and wladimir made no intentions on going to the mid-section. not a fun fighter to watch.
Neither is Hopkins, infact, he wins with a combination of blatant fouling and stinking,.. but he has his penis sucked booooooone dryyyyyyyyyyyy,.. and people outright REFUSE to ever have him losing fights,..so ....with Hopkins in mind...Wlad is pretty fucking awesome,...
