Oscar cleary gave his agreement with fight being stopped with a nod then a shake of his head when they asked him if he wanted to continue.
He did give a small nod...but even if he didn't say nothing..his team was all in his face telling him they are going to stop it NOW>..he quit...
It was a situation where he didn't really want to say the words "I quit" but he clearly wanted no more of Pacquiao.
Exactly. Anyone who questions his heart for quitting there is an idiot. He had exactly ZERO chance of turning that fight around and every chance of ending up losing several IQ points.
I think he was toying with the idea of the "weight-drain" excuse. I hope he has enough class to avoid that crap.
What he meant by that is by choosing to fight Pacquiao, and going through with the fight. He realised after the fight, he really shouldn't have pursued a Pacman fight, and began to wish he had fought Arce instead.
Bob Arum announced Arce as the head of the "Mexicans for Manny committee" at the post fight presser for Pac/DLH.
You know I just rewatched the telecast. I noticed Freddie was VICIOUS in the minute between the 8th round and 9th round: "Finish this man, son. It's your job." That's what Freddie told Pacquiao for his instructions for the 9th round! :: It's like Freddie thought that Pacquiao was going to carry Oscar or something. I never have seen Freddie like this.
