It has nothing to do with Oquendo being a marginal contender, and everything to do with Toney being lazy.

 

oquendo is not much but if he can't still move he should win, because toney cant.

 

I don't think Toney is as bad as Holyfield was when he beat Fres, so I'll go with Toney. I'm rooting for Fres though.

Fres can be dirty at times, and with Toney's defensive technique I epect Oquendo to hit him repeatedly (and intentionally, unlike other fighters) on the back of the head.

He was matched pretty tough.

 

He showed he can win his debut in 43 seconds.

 

It's good to see they're giving the olympian some tough opposition early on. The guy he just faced was a beast.

Announcers are right though, he shouldn't be charging in like that. He had every advantage too but charged in with his chin sticking out.

 

I just wanted to post nice clubfighters match-up to open the show, and then I read Estrade was an 2008 Olympian. :boohoo:

 

It's not hard to see why he wasn't that sought after following the Olympics.

At least he has a crowd pleasing style. Maybe he can build a following fighting in the So. Cal area on some Goossen undercards.

Ward's sharp with his left hand, can win this fight with that hand alone. But his technique really falls apart on his right hand at times.

 

Announcers talking about him switching southpaw...Ward always does it, in part because his left is where his power is.

Solid performance for Ward. If this was a confidence builder after surgery, okay, but enough with the no-hopers.
