:: a fluke against Vince Phillips, and then a dirty fight where Hatton was allowed to fight like a MM artist seems to allow people to forget just how good Tszyu was. Kostya was an amazing fighter.
It seems that any MM involving Tszyu, the rule is: •Take Tszyu's worst performance •Match that to the opponent's best performance.. "If Phillips could do ....imagine what (insert opponent here) could do..." It's like saying: If Hasim Rahman & McCall can K.O Lewis with one right hand, imagine what (insert name of fighter you consider superior to Rahman & McCall here) would do to Lewis. (which of course includes a lot of guys LL actually beat) Somebody even said that in reference to a MM against Pac. "If Phillips could land the STR8 RH, imagine what Pac (southpaw BTW) would do..."
Tszyu didnt even perform badly against Philips... Vince was just a man possesed that night. Lewis simply got caught againt McCall, and against Rockhead he CLEARLY wasnt at his best. And oh yeah, at least Lewis avenged his two losses. Funny how Tszyu never wanted a rematch with Philips OR Hatton. As for Tszyu vs McGirt... I see Tszyu winning a close decision at 140. At 147 Buddy kicks his ass.
based on what? Seriously who is the best guy Buddy McGirt beat?...and how did Tszyu do against boxers?
Surely you see see the sillyness (and the fact that somebody always manages to do so), in invoking Vince Phillips, or his quit-job against Hatton as a reason to pick against Tszyu in almost every MM, don't you Xplosive?
Tszyu is like the anti-Pryor on this board. Aaron can never be beaten, Tszyu can't beat anyone. Im sure if it came up, most here would pick Calvin Grove over him.
Yep! By late TKO.:: Tszyu does get underrated in MM though. I once put up a Tszyu-Mancini MM, and I think some ppl picked Mancini.
Like I said in years earlier post... I think Tszyu had the style to beat Buddy at 140, but it'd be close and Buddy has a chance.
