I like Kessler, but considering he ducked Miranda and that Froch want to fight him, I dont quit believe in this
Should he ask Floyd's permission first?... :bangh: Reed please,.. why isn't what he says legitimate?.. it's not like any of those fighters have offerred him a career high pay for him to turn down twice. <-- and I'm the one on the right, TOM.
nee-naw nee-naw, pc brigade is here... come on buddy: it's kauki. his schtick is seven times removed from reality.
Kessler needs another Andradesque performance on American Television. Only then will the big names consider fighting him IMO. As it stands, he's known primarily for losing to Calzaghe. His beating of Andrade has long been forgotten. And his defenses and title winning fight following the Calzaghe loss were not on American TV. He needs to find a top 15, or better yet a top 10 guy who HBO will let him fight on BAD. He'll win impressively as he usually does, and then he'll get the attention he deserves. I don't know what the deal is with Froch, but I do know that not that many people in the U.S. have seen him fight. But Kessler is a formidable opponent. I'm surprised B-Hop won't fight him - dirty-hop's stink seems to be the perfect tactic for getting Kessler off his ryhthm and beating him fairly decisively on points. But again, at this point, it really isn't a risk worth taking for Hopkins. Kessler needs to remind us all once again what a great fighter he is. And notes to the public won't cut the mustard. His manager needs to secure him a fight with a credible opponent on Showtime or HBO before people will start calling for him to be in the mix. In my opinion, Bika would be a perfect choice. He's durable. Respected. Well known. But we all know Kessler would beat him and probably do so impressively. After that, I think he can make his case.
When in the world did he ever prove he was a great fighter? Which fight or fighters did he prove this against? I'll Holla 5000
Its pretty apparent that Dibella wont let Taylor fight Kessler. HBO wants that fight, Kessler wants it, but Dibella and Taylor dont. YOU might be confident that JT can beat Kessler, but too bad JT's own promoter isnt confident about it.
You wanna know why Kessler hasn't fought nobody?.. .. because he hasn't picked out any name fighters in a deep welterweight division, and pulled them up to a catch-weight, that's why.
Where did I say he was a great fighter? The point I'm making is he needs to make another statement, like he did with his dominant win over Andrade. Only then will he be back in the game. As it stands, he's just a guy who lost to Calzaghe. Did you read my post? Or are you just being argumentative for the sake of it? By the way, he earned a fight against Calzaghe that many thought he would win. It was Calzaghe's toughest opponent his entire career by far. If he can embarrass on HBO a guy like Bika or Bute, there will be much more pressure on guys like Hopkins, Taylor and even Calzaghe to fight him.
well, his win over andrade, beyer, lucas and mundine did not distinguish him as a great figher. but it was enough to convince many that he'd beat calzaghe. all i'm saying is he needs another high profile win that will reestablish him as a formidable force, and not just a guy who lost to calzaghe. when posters come at me from angles like yours, it sounds like you're trying to justiy the refusal o all the fighters who apparently don't want to fight him. At thispoint, Kessler poses the risk, but not the reward. A bashing of Bika or Bute on BAD would fulfill the reward side. That's all I'm saying.
I don't see the need for Bika to be included. The Bute-Andrade winner, Froch would be unifications. Taylor would be a name American. Those fights make sense at 168.
....it is not just who you beat, it is how you beat them.....the way he handled Beyer, Andrade etc.... showed us that this guy is for real.....for example we all knew Cotto was a very good fighter before he got those victories over Zab and Shane....
You aint kidding And here is the rub: some of the same folk who are now calling Kessler overrated are the very same people who came here and picked him to beat Joe. The very same one's now calling him unproven are the same one's who fancied him 12 months ago... ...funny that :bangh: MTF
