There was nothing in the first fight to indicate that there would be a different outcome if they fought 10 different times. Floyd is better than Ricky and there is no reason to see this fight again. Hatton v Pacquiao is the fight I want to see. I don't care if Floyd ever fights again or not. A great talent for sure but boring as all hell almost all of the time.
Why would you wanna fight somebody whom you already knocked the f*ck out convincingly? Why doesn't Floyd fight f*ckin' Margarito already and stop the charade?
Fuck Floyd. I hope he stays retired. We know he isn't going to make any fights we want to see. He's only interested in making some money.
The right thing for all of us to do as fans of the sport is to boycott all of his bullsh*t until he fights a real fighter.
hold off on the floyd-hate - the guy didn't say when floyd inquired about a rematch. floyd probably made this "approach" well before the oscar-manny fight. and we all knew floyd was interested in the rematch. this is just hatton's scumbag lawyer trying to increase their bargaining leverage for the pacman negotiations - "We've had approaches from everybody. We've also had approaches from people at 130lbs, Juan (Manuel) Marquez and Juan Diaz both want to fight him. He is a massive draw and can fight where he wants." - perhaps neglecting to note that floyd's call came 6 months ago.
Of course Floyd was interested in a rematch, he beat Hatton easy and made a lot of money. It's not like Hatton gave him any trouble at all. He should change his name to Floyd "Looking for that Easy Money" Mayweather
yeah. just like we knew ODH would defeat Pacquiao, right? wow. Hatton beat Paulie feather-fists. What a feat.
most of you guys don't get it...this isn't about hatton...it's about getting at his father who's training hatton now. haven't you guys been paying attention to the mayweathers drama over the years? you also have to consider floyd jr's hatred from bob arum thus the initial hesitance to fight pacquiao...everything with floyd these days is personal. after the initial posturing, phonetap is guessing these guys will all eventually fight.
meanwhile, in his latest interview, pbf made it clear he was reconciling with his father and that his father would again become his trainer. fact of the matter is, pbf may never fight again. but he's sure's hell not gonna let pacquiao steal his spot-light in the press. what pbf doesn't know is that no amount of conflicting input from him will change the fact that pacquiao beat the shit out of odh, whilst pbf beat him by the skin of his teeth in a fight that for the most part was boring as hell.
I'm glad to see Hatton vs Pac being made. Keep Floyd out, he needs to fight Margarito or stay retired.
If he fights next year, it'll probably be against the winner. But I agree, Hatton-Pacquiao is a fight the sport needs...and it's fans deserve, IMO.
Why you "fans" of the sport wanna see the #1 P4P fighter in the world against Hatton when you can see him against the guy who just dismantled him? Aren't we suppose to want to see the very best fight each other? :cheer:
too bad that it is going to vegas.....you couldn't find an arena big enough to hold all the fans, but the 15,000 or so that you can squeeze into the MGM grand, probably charging about $150 for the nose-bleeders, is gonna make it very tough on the many adoring fans these two fighters have
jeez, where did all these mayweather haters come from? Is it his fault he sodomized Hatton/beatDLH/embarassed Corrales/embarassed Gatti. Is it that he goes out of his way to outclass likeable guys?
I completely agree. But as a fighter, I mean its not like he's a RJJ-esque coward. He's a loud pernell whitaker. But then again I have enormous respect for whitaker also...again as a fighter
dsimon writes: I was not saying he should fight baldy (again) I was using the Baldimore fight as an example of a tune up where he sucked and how it affected him... or more accurately how it would affect him in this situation. Baldimore managed to achieve one thing in that fight... he made Floyd look like shit. Floyd has a tendency to fight down a bit to his comp at times... I just think he would be better off just going for it awith no tune ups.
Pacquiao's camp has already said he's not going to remain at 147. So if he's going to fight at 140, which is what Arum, et al, have said, then the natural opponent is Hatton. Mayweather, if he's going to fight at 147, should fight one of the top fighters actually at the weight.
