Another one I forgot. Yeah, thats my favorite JT fight to watch also. His display against Charles Williams was also brilliant, but it was more methodical and not as exciting as the Barkley fight.

Good call on whoever said McCallum-Watson. Mike took Watson apart in grand fashion.

I dunno if this one should rank high, but I always enjoy watching Vargas' destruction of Raul Marquez. Not that Marquez was ever anything special, but the way Vargas took him apart was impressive and fun to watch.

Yeah, much as I love Roy I dont rank that amongst Roy's most impressive wins. Its a fun destruction to watch, but not one of Roy's most impressive. I'd rank Roy's 5 best performances as:

    1. Toney
    2. Hill
    3. Hall
    4. Reggie Johnson
    5. Thomas Tate

  7. jaman

    jaman Leap-Amateur

i think best tszyu one was gonzalez

  8. Streetfighter

    Streetfighter WBC Champion

Mayweather v Chico was much more of one. Maybe number one when I really think about it. It was a great boxing show by Mayweather.

  9. LATIN KING

    LATIN KING Undisputed Champion

the funny thing about Vargas/Marquez was the bad blood between Vargas and Oscar.

Marquez was Oscar's buddy and Vargas made it personal and enjoyed beating his ass.

ha anyone besides Garcia and Reid "not" had a virtuoso prformance against Tackie? With Tackie, either you win a wide decision, or on your way to doing so, you get KTFO.

it was very telling that Tszyu, one of the strongest 14 pound champions there ever was, decided his best approach would be to box and counter Tackie rather than back him up the way he did nearly eert other opponent he ever fught.

He should've boxed Hatton in fact. But I think he was confident he could knock him out.

amazing how tzsyu beat gonzalez's ass. that was virtually a pick 'em fight, with plenty of credible pundits picking gonzalez. but gonzalez couldn't do a thing in the face of tszyu's stinging offense.

Either that or he forgot to use masking tape to reinforce the glass in his chin. The folks in the first 10 rows that night should have worn safety goggles to protect them from the flying glass!

I don't know why you're laughing. He knocked Taylor out - folded him like a chair. How much more dominant can a win have been?

It was a far more dominant win, for example, than Benitez/Duran, and nobody (except myself), seems to think it doesn't belong on the list.

Pavlik/Miranda you can add to the list as well. But if you ask Kelley, he'll tell you that was a tougher fight than his fight with Taylor.

  24. Mitchell Kane

Mitchell Kane WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

It may be because most fighter's mentioned in this thread didn't come as close to getting knocked out in their "virtuoso" fights as Pavlik did.

makes it all the more virtuous in my eyes. plus, although he might have been seriously hurt there for a moment, we all know it was his being a smart azz and giving Taylor his chin. not anything to do with his ability to not block a punch.

but we also have to consider the context in which he beat Taylor. Taylor had just finished beating Hopkins, maybe the best middle-weight ever, twice in a row !!! And here comes Pavlik and blasts him to pieces.

  26. Mitchell Kane

Mitchell Kane WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

If you think Taylor's record reads as it should in regard to his fights with Hopkins and Wright, so be it, but I don't think you can call Pavlik-Taylor "one sided".

  27. D.C. Pizza Master

    D.C. Pizza Master Undisputed Champion

    here is a funny one

    Paul Spadafora vs Pito Cardona

Cardona was a heavy favorite in that fight and he damn got shutout in every round..i mean there were not even a close round....that was a boxing clinic

  28. Xplosive

    Xplosive X-MOD Bad Motherfucker

Much as I hated that scumbag Spaddy, I'll give you this one. His clinic against Cardona was impressive.

  29. REEDsART

    REEDsART MATCHMAKER

Yep...Even Tarver LOST to Roy Jones....

    REED:mj:

  30. royyjonesjrp4pno1

    royyjonesjrp4pno1 "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Malignaggi vs N'dou 1 was probably the last impressive performance Paulie will have in his career.

MAB in the 3rd Morales fight. He fought a masterpiece.
