I'd love to see Gomez fight Vitali. As for Pavlik/Abraham, it would be a crime if that fight doesn't get made. An absolute crime. Only a Roy Jonesque approach to negotiating by either side can stand in the way of that one happening. And I can see why Gomez would want more than $1..5 MM for his efforts.
Not according to the article. I don't know exactly how purse bids work, but there was something in the article about there being $9MM on the table for the fight. For Gomez to get only $1.5MM of that seems a little crazy IMO.
If the bid is nine million, gomez would wind up with $2,250,000. I don't think Gomez is worth that much, but yeah.
according to the article, the purse split would be 70/30. Not sure if Gomez gets an extra 5% due to his waiting forever (and fighting a second "final" eliminator) for his title shot or what. My guess is that K2 will let Arena-Box basically bid against itself, and decide whether the purse offered is worth keeping the title, or dumping and proceeding with Haye. If Oner claims there's $9 million to be had for this fight, then let him place that bid.
Do you think anyone is going to bid 9 freaking million dollars for this fight? I really don't. It's a fight that isn't going to make anyone money, aside from the live gate if it's in germany. I surely wouldn't pay to see it.
