ESPN2 is going to show Bowe-Golota 2 and both Robinson-Gatti fights later tonight. If you've never watched Robinson-Gatti 1 or 2, you should at least set the recorder.
Because of the great knockdowns, ko's, or drama in the decision? edit: I forgot about the kd in this fight. Very overrated fight, regardless, imo. Robinson clearly outfought him.
I think the Ward fight is the most over-rated. Take away the bad decision and while it was a very entertaining fight, it's one that Gatti should've won and was clearly superior in, IMO. He did survive a crippling body shot, though, and came back. I don't know, I think Robinson I and Ruelas might be my top two selections.
i think the ward, ruelas, and rodriguez fights are all better than robinson 1. i personally think that the manfredy fight was better in terms of action and drama during the fight, but the anticlimactic ending due to the cut kind of spoils it
Wilson Rodriguez was "Clearly Outfighting" Gatti Too...That was a 1-Sided Fight w/a DRAMATIC Shift N Momentum & a KO...Gatti-Robinson was More EVENLY Fought Throughout & Had SEVERAL Momentum Shifts, w/Gatti Very NEARLY Pulling it Out @ the End by KO... The 1st Gatti-Ward Fight is the Best of the Trilogy, but it was Pretty TAME Until the 5th Round...Round 9 is what MAKES that Fight what it Is Today...But Gatti-Robinson I had More SUSTAINED Action, Round by Round, than Gatti-Ward I.... REED:hammert:
Round 9 of the 1st Gatti-Ward Fight is THE Most Exciting Round of Gatti's Career...That ONE Round Boosts the Perception of the ENTIRE Trilogy::...But Gatti has LOTS of Fights (Aside from the Gatti-Ward Trilogy) w/More SUSTAINED, Round by Round Action... REED:hammert:
Well looks like we all have diff opinions, and its all subjective anyway. But my opinion remains that Gatti-Robinson 1 is Arturo's most exciting. Gatti-Rodriguez is 2nd, followed by Gatti-Ruelas. Gatti-Ward 1 is 4th.
I know there isn't a correct answer on something like this.... but come on man, you're just wrong. ::
I didn't say the fight sucked; I just don't think it was that great, especially when Gatti had better fights with far better endings. So how am I wrong? There are a couple of people saying it was his best fight, and more saying otherwise...so far.
The ending of this fight, meaning the last round, was pretty damn good, IMO. Gatti behind on points, trying for a knockout. Robinson wobbly legged, just trying to make it out of the round.
Yeah, he took a beating in this fight. That's one of the thigns that intrigued me about the fight, that had Futch had stayed in the corner, it would have probably been a TKO for Golota.
Robinson Gatti was good, but I don't like seeing Gatti having to catch on a cutie. Robinson engaged because he had to, thanks to Gatti closing in. But he was way using his legs too much and wasting some precious bang-time ::
