I knew it would happen. Sadly, I don't think Chavez Jr has what it takes to even beat this version of Oscar.

Oscar: Well in my last fight, I lost to the best Pound for Pound fighter in the world, there is no shame in that. JCC Jr. wants to prove that he belongs in that class and I believe I deserve another shot to prove myself.

Perhaps REED is NAIVE, but he's NEVER Gotten the Impression that DeLa Fought JUST for the Money...But if DeLa Go's Thru w/THIS Fight, it's APPARENT that he's ONLY Fighting for the Money...

& Hopefully, Chavez Jr. WHIPS his Ass like Manny Pac Did...

The Pacquiao fight was all about the money too, don't you think?

  5. Joe King

Absolutely, and you know he thought he could get an even win and then fight Hatton for even more money. I'm glad Pacquiao derailed that. Hopefully he fights Chavez Jr for the $$$ and gets beat up making JCC Jr. a mini star. Then JCC Jr will finally fight a decent fighter and be KTFO.

Yeah, it HAD to B, Now that REED Thinks about it...

If DeLa Thought for a Second that Manny was Capable of Administering THE WORST Beating of his Career, he WOULDN'T have Pursued the Fight...The Forbes Fight was Probably STRICTLY for the Money Too...

Actually REED, most fights we see today are for the money. Floyd, even in his prime, only signed fights that brought the most money. That's why his chicken sh*t ass wants nothing to do with Margarito. Since Floyd knows he can make as much or more money fighting a lesser opponent.

Dela is never going to retire and getting his ass kicked by Manny, IMO he would see Chavez as a "big fight" to check out on - A fight he could win!

Obviously he didn't think Manny was going to beat him up, who goes after a fight thinking that?

  9. REEDsART

There was MORE than Just Money @ Stake for Floyd, N EACH of his Most Recent Fights...Zab, Baldomir, DeLa & Hatton Certainly WEREN'T "Lesser" Fights than Margarito, WHEN Floyd Faced them....

I like this matchup. Oscar has earned the right to fight whoever he wants and this is an interesting fight on paper.

I don't blame De la at all. He needs a win and Chavez Jr is the biggest name he can possibly beat at this point.

Look for Chavez Jr. to KO him earlier than Pac, sign right after the fight with GBP and starting a series of PPV fights against Vanda and the likes, before being pushed to fight someone legit and get teared apart.

Agree....plus if it happens DE LA HOYA will have it take place at 154..or above..a weight best for him...

maybe if de la beats him convincingly, he will find a reason to stay around and keep fighting... :shit:

perfect fight for ODH to redeem himself with; plus it will be a major event among Mexicans.

i can't imagine JCC Amateur beating ODH. an anyone else?

Depends whether there's a co-promotional deal for Jr. in it for Golden Boy.

They have been trying to break into the Mexican market.

Redeem himself?:lol::laughing: De La Hoya vs. Margarito would be bigger....THEN DE LA HOYA WOULD REALLY BE REDEEMING himself....kinda..

please respond with a coherent retort, and i'll gladly address you. as it stands, i have no fucking clue what you're trying to imply.

it would be only a mild redemption, admittedly, but suppose it's ODH's final fight, and J Jr. goes on to become a dominant champ?

You know exactly what I'm talking about. Why and how in the fuck can a fight against this dude redeem himself DLH's career. It's gone in the shitter since he got his ass handed to him against a much much smaller guy. That's me saying that Roy's career was redeemed since he Ajamu. Pull DLH's nuts outta your mouth so that you have coherent thoughts. I'll Holla 5000

Now Ron King can claim the FIX again. That is the most legit explanation. DLH had to look like utter sh*t to justify a fight with Chavez Jr. :kidcool:

Even a shot Oscar beats this kid. I like Chavez jr. but he posseses none of what got Oscar's ass handed to him a few weeks back...no speed, no head movement, no power and no footwork.

    "However"

Oscar might not make it out of Azteca Stadium alive so I'm all for the fight!

the REAL question is...would HBO broadcast and how much would they put up for the fight.
