According to Fightnews "talks are underway" and the fight could take place in April or May at the Staples Center.

I believe his injury keeps him out until summer. Wlad will stop Arreola in 5 rounds.

Agreed. Arreola has the power to do the job but his weight is a major problem IMO.

If this fight happens hopefully it won't be a Lewis-Tua remix.

Arreola is 6'4 so I doubt he'll be kept at bay for the entire night. He should manage to get a few licks in there if he's willing to come forward. It's his skill level and conditioning which we're wondering about.

Well that would be the biggest fight of his life. If he comes in fat for that one he may as well find another career.

he won't need to keep him at bay the whole night because Wlad will get him out of there with the first decent attack he imposes (which admittidly can take time, but Arreola presents enough opportunities)

Arreola is a poor challenger....HBO like him, and thats why he's got this fight, but really he's no better than Dominick Guinn and all the other hype jobs that have proceeded him

Arreola doesn't appear have Tua's chin - or his power, and therefore shouldn't get the same respect - and given his height/size, shouldn't be as hard to hit (with power punches).

    Klitschko should knock him out.

Wlad won't open up on Arreola. He will play it safe and win a UD.

He has to open up to hit Arreola?

Exactly what didn't Travis Walker hit him with?

I wouldn't rule arreola out, despite the deficiencies he showed against walker, he showed good composure I thought when he was under intense pressure, and he can throw combinations when he's in range, plus maybe its wishful thinking but he has some 'dog' in him - I can't see him surrendering as meekly as thompson or rahman...

HBO are really rushing this fight...maybe they got worried after Arreola's last fight.

Maybe they want an opponent that Klitschko can fight in the States...and one that can give some effort and help put on an entertaining fight.

None of that means he's very good, though.

Let´s put it this way, who has more skills Arreola or Peter. There you go. Of course everything goes out of the window, if Arreola doesn´t show up in shape. The ref will also play an important role. Will Wlad be allowed to stop any fighting on the inside with his holding. Wlad hasn´t fought a young challenger with real offensive talent in like NEVER. Matter of fact Wlad has never fought a younger challenger in his life.

i give areola a shot if the refeee doesn't stop the action at wlad's will(i.e. everytimr Wlad ties Aereola up).

Aerola's hunger and energy (his pace) could intimidate, "back foot Wlad." Here's hoping it does!!!

    Arreola has "real offensive talent"?

His right hand is one of the sloppiest in the division, from what I've seen. He looks like he's just pushing it sometimes.

He's tough, from what I've seen. He'll need to be tougher than he's shown just to test Wlad, IMO.

and more or less that is the extent of it. :bears:Aeriola is not ready to fight the bottom of this shitty division and they are putting him against Vlad... nice. Desperate and not a good move. Whatcan he do? he is slow and fat.

During a weak division the fat strong guys come out.... Louis used to go through them during the bum o the month period. Mesomorph psyiology generally in a strong division does not prevail... and yes before you say it let me... Toney is a perfect example! Aeriol is a strong kid who can win against second tere opposition, Vlad's introduction to the big leaues will not be subtle and might be quite unleasant to boot.

You don´t think he puts his punches together well in combinations, when he is in range? Getting in range will of course large depend on weighing around 230, not 260. If he is out of shape, he´ll be a sitting duck.

I'm probably the biggest Chris Arreola fan on the board, and although I disagree with most of you on why he would be beatin, and the fact some of you have so much hate for a guy that hasn't deserved it, I do think he will lose this fight and probably by 7th round tko.
He does have that punchers chance, and if he is not troubled by the power after a couple rounds he could go after Klitschko but I don't really see it....
He needs a few more fights.

Christ almighty... I watched this kid once and thats all I needed to see. Shit Potvkin couldn't crack an egg with a diamond hammer either but he can box... How does one get hit by this kid? He makes Sam Peter look fast!
what exactly are you guys seeing that I am not? and those KO's? are we certain the guys were not already out before they stepped in the ring with the Mexican luche Libre fatadore'?

I could not imagine a possable way in a thousand that man tits Aeriolla could touch the klit much less damage him with a punch. :atu:

Look guys I have been looking for the next heavyweight since Lewis retired as well ok? and the klits never were it and I like you are waiting for one of these guys to deal with a real puncher at which time I will no longer reserve judgement.... but there ain't no way that a man with more tits and ass than M Monroe is gonna be the one ok? Or a freak with gigantism for that matter, or a fat Nigerian who cannot find the time to train....

    Haye maybe maybe!!

I mean otherwise sane people are starting to sound like they are drinking the same everclear as Double L does during one of his drunken misspelled rants!

Dsimon, you watched him once, thats all you had to say....

If it was his last performance then no wonder you don't think much of him.
I have been watchin this kid ever since he won by DQ cuz he got kissed on the lips!! hahaha
And he has very fast hands and puts punches together like a featherweight...but he only does that when he is around 230 pounds...that extra weight seriously kills him...

Arreola is a decent fighter. Very tough and hits well above average.

But Walker couldn't miss him and you can't blame that all on being heavy. Very few guys can take a Klitschko hitting them at will and winning. Puritty and Brewster did it so Arreola is not without hope. But there ain't much hope for him.
