I like Rampage. It will be a stand-up fight and he is just a better striker than Rashad. But Rampage will have to more aggressive than he was with Griffin. Rashad won't move forward and won't attack like Silva did. Rampage will absolutely have to push the fight.

I think Rashad stops Thiago Alves, so I'll look forward to this matchup. I like this matchup and it should be an action fight. They are both around the same size, but I believe Rashad is more skilled. Rampage has more experience.

It's too close to call right now. Rampage KOd Wanderlei, he didn't look that good before the monster shot. I thought Forrest was winning the fight(first two rounds but losing the 3rd up until the KO) but Rashad was very sharp and was performing at a high level.

If I just take those two performances into account, I'd favor Rashad by late round stoppage.

    agREED...

& that Makes it IMPERATIVE that Rampage Show Up N THE BEST Shape of his Life...Rashad Moves ALOT for an MMAist, Even Though he's Not "Running"...REED is Starting to Figure Out Rashad...He LULLS Guys to SLEEP, then Takes them Out SPECTACULARLY...Very WEIRD Fighter...

REED Could EASILY See Rampage Getting BORED &/or FRUSTRATED w/Rashad's Movement, Causing Himself to Get SLOPPY or OVERLY Aggressive...But the Good Thing is, Rampage has a STOUT Chin...REED CAN'T See Rashad Finishing him w/a SINGLE Shot...

REED Leans SLIGHTLY Towards Rampage, but Rashad does an EXCELLENT Job of CONTROLLING the Tempo & Engaging on HIS Terms....

Like you REED, I lean slightly towards Rampage, but think Rampage will have to stay patient and focused on a strategy. Rashad could easily frustrate Rampage.

Doesn't Alves have to beat Machida on 1/31 still? I know you're not assuming that's a 'gimme'. Machida is the uncrowned champ at 205.

I thought Alves' next fight would be the title fight? A Machida win would shake up the division more than it already is.

I keep saying Thiago Alves.. Of course we mean Thiago Silva.

The winner of Machida-Thiago Silva represents an undefeated challenger at 205 that clearly represnts the most deserving guy for the champion to defend against in my opinion.

By the way, Machida will win!!

But UFC 94 is shaping up to be a great card. You get Penn-GSP, Silva-Machida, the return of Karo Parisyan, the return of Stephen Bonner, and Nate Diaz-Clay Guida.

That is not in his nature, he has never done this in a fight before so it wont happen this time. rampage actually does the opposite at times, even though he is losing, he might not turn it up enough

Guida is a stud, this should be a very interesting matchup. I would love to see Guida vs Edgar just for the matchup quality of it.

When I was watching Forrest/Rashad, a bunch of people were asking the same as well, he almost doesn't have his own identity without Forrest

Evans did to Griffin what both Shogun and Rampage SHOULD have done.

Which is why Evans is better than both.

sure, and Ross Purity is better than Wlad. Zahir Raheem is better than Erik Morales, and of course Mayorga is better than Forrest.

It could be, hard to tell. Jackson's stand up seems to be improving but Rashad's is also pretty good and he's quicker and more athletic than Rampage.

My guess is you'll see a lot of feints and circling before any action occurs.

Evans has his own style...very unorthodox and tricky.

And he isn't bad on the ground either. However, I see Jackson winning this one because I think he is better striking, and on the ground.
Evans is quicker and faster I think,..but Jackson is granite chinned and extremely strong.

If Rampage has his head on right,...he wins.

Evans might be a little too crafty for Jackson to deal with. He showed great stamina against Griffin. Plus, he has underrated power. I think he might decision Rampage at this stage.

So you wouldn't favor Rashad over them both AT THIS POINT??? I'm not talking about career accomplishments.

Could Rashad Evans B Any WEIRDER???....

ALL of His Fights R Fairly BORING & UNimpressive Until the Moment that he IMPRESSIVELY Takes a Guy Out w/a SINGLE Strike (or Ground & Pound in the Case of Forrest)....

The HARDEST Thing to Do N MMA is Keep your "0"...Rashad's Nearly 20 Fights Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeep w/Out a Loss, yet even REED STRUGGLES to Appreciate the Cat....

Rashad is the truth. He's knocked guys OUT COLD with single strikes, be it punch or kick. And he can wrestle with the best of them. Dude is going to achieve great things with the way he's going.

I agree that Rashad is a great fighter and has awesome skills. However, he is in a veeeery deep division and he could very easily lose his next match. And if it is against Machida as I think it may, he has a very tough fight.

I like Rampage big in that a fight, Rashad is the type of guy who is very athletic and explosive but he's the kind of guy who only tries to get lucky with his shot, no feint, no set up, no body punching, no jabs to set up his shots. Unless he catch Ramage with a huge bomb, and even there I doubt it would take out Quiton with only one, he gets outworked and possibly stop late.

if the fight was made today, and I had a gun to my head to pick one or the other, like i said before, I would lean to Rampage. But If Rashad won, it wouldn't suprise me. How indecisive is that answer for ya?

Plus its a historic fight.THis is the first time two Black fighters fight for a championship in mix martial arts.I'd be shocked if the UFC doesn't make this fight first.
