I've seen him a number of times over the years and I'm not sure I've seen anything that resembles a featherweight.

He's got a decent left hook, and when he's in close enough to land it, it's not that bad, and when the opportunity presents itself - like when there's a hurt opponent in front of him - he can put that in combination. But his right hand looks pretty weak, to me. His jab is decent...not sure how much of a factor it'd be against Klitschko.

His defense is not very good. He's open right up the middle...which is where Klitschko lives.

Yes... In the interest of being honest I thought it was only fair to mention that I saw him once.... Actually I think I said way too much given that fact!:lol:

Problem is with these guys is that they don't or can't make a good weight. Sam Peter looked great against Toney in the second fight and he never came in at that weight again:notallthere:. It makes no sense. BUt I tell you what if I see Chris at 230 my attention will be peaked and nothing would make me happier than to eat my words because a young heavy weight looked good in the ring... I mean even if he does not beat Vlad... but looks good that would be splendid

So the kid has good hand speed Karl? Thats a plus I mean Corrie Sanders did it that way. Corrie came in at a great weight and ready, thats a necessity for Chris obviously. IMO Corrie was always one of those guys who if they had not invented sticks, holes and golfballs could have been a hell of a lot better of a talent.

I can't say it enough I hope you guys are right!

Nor the punch. Arreola strikes me as a Rahman kind of guy.

how exactly??? Wlad has risen from the canvas far more and against better, harder ounching dudes...

Wlad has definitely the bigger heart from what he's SHOWN so far...

regrouping abilities... that's another story but to question his heart is stupid.

Goosen is the most annoying promoter. My guess - and it's only a guess - is that he's the most corrupt of them all. And that's saying a lot.

Not exactly "great" shape.. he was perhap in somewhat better shape than his average. Sanders basically did what he usually tries to do which is KO his guy EARLY.. after that who knows what WOULD have happened.. I have a hard time believing he was ready to go a hard 10, even 8 rounds.

Fortunately for Corrie, Wlad's chin wasn't ready to go three rounds. I love that fight. Vitali's reaction in the corner is PRICELESS.

From getting hit with 10 jabs a round? Wlad will be as aggrssive in this fight as Lewis was with Tua.

    Wlad will destroy Arreola.

At least Tua brought power and a good chin. that was something Lewis had to respect.

Arreola brings none of that. The guy can't even come in at a decent shape and he is still young.

Even this passive version of Wlad will destroy Arreola.

Those jabs will turn Asseola's face into mush, and Wlad will find him an impossible target to miss. This will be a brutal beatdown as Wlad will sodomize this fraud. And if Asseola somehow pulls it off... great, I hate Wlad.

    Going to take a look

I know someone within the Arreola camp, and may fly out West in January to take a look at him training if I can get the time off from work.

The guy is in shape cardio-wise going by what my friend says as he spars up to nine hard rounds a day and wants to do even more, but his trainer has to back him down.

If I do get a chance to go, I will let you folks know my impressions of him.

I think his camp needs to hire a pro nutritionist, and he needs to stick to the eating regimen that is going to be laid to him which should be lots of fruits, chicken white meat, and vegetables.

Indeed. Onlythe "between" period begins about an hour after his fight, and ends... about an hour before the next fight.

TECATE should seriously consider taking ad space on his back - or his gut, or even his breasts.

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you were saying Sanders always came in shape... my bad.

Wlad was a different guy than when he fought Sanders. Also, Arreola isn't close to Sanders when it comes to speed or power.... they are on two different levels.

Indeed they are on different levels. Sanders is one of my closet favorites... i.e. I would love to see him at peak level in the division because he is fuckin good! I also have some sympathy for his situation: I mean he is quite good and is lucrative with the golf, so naturally, not being a type A sort he slacks off in his other pursuits.

    Oh well

How would you know that? He was trim fit and able... which allowed his boxing ability to show, I don't know what else is required of a fighter... and lord knows most of the division can't do it! Yes he tries for the early KO and he is a puncher and a southpaw which has worked well for him in the past... Sanders cracks thats what he does.

He does get drunk, and alot, and he fights on the drop of a hat to when he is drunk, its basically the bad part about him, but when he is sobre he is a great guy.
