were all over the place, shocking results after another

First off, Aoki subbed Alvarez, not too shocking to me as, even thought I had Alvarez, I gave Aoki a real good chance here unlike many.

Manhoeff koed Mark Hunt, who is known for his Iron chin and his quite bigger than him, in like 20 secons, MAnhoeff is a bad man and the best striker in MMA by quite a lot imo, if he ever fights Anderson Silva, Silva better gets him on the ground ASAP or he gets to sleep real quic imo.

Most shocking of all, Badr Hari gets roll over by Overeem in a K-1 fight, and as shocking as it sounds, it doesn't say a lot about Overeem, who's on a roll right now but hasn't had his chronic weaknesses test in a while, but it really hurt Hari rep and to a greater degree, K-1 reputation, hate to make a boxing vs K-1 comparaison but as of now, it's clear to say now that their top guy's are not on the same level as top boxers, their defense really sucks, even in the top guys. Really disapointing showing for them

And Musashi, who is much bigger, got koed by Moussasi in a k-1 fight, sure Musashi is past his best but overall, it was a very bad night for K-1 fighters

Did you see Mousassi beat him in Dream? I think Mousassi has a better chance than Manhoeff. Sure Manhoeff has the one punch power but I think Silva would be wayyyyy to smart for him. A fight with Manhoeff and Cung Le would be very entertaining while it lasted.

I had heard he retired but you know how that goes in fighting

anyone who never got to see it, here's Manhoeff vs Mousasi. The clip is like 11 minutes long, but most of it is Manhoeff's entrance:bangh: the fight starts at the 7 minute mark, in case you are like me and not want to watch all the crap.:popcorn:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92ejcLITMK8

he used to be a pride mw if I'm not mistaken, that means under 200lbs, basically the equivalent of UFC lhw division. But nowaday, he looks huge, unbelivable he could go under 200, he has steadilly grown over the last few years and now he's one of the biggest top hw on the planet. Either he was really killing himself cutting weight or he is so full of roids it's not even funny ( probably a little bit of both )

Aoki is a maniac on the mat, I think his standup is pretty lacking. The problem is keeping him on his feet, the guy is the shit at getting it down to the mat. I still think Alvarez is a beast, he just got caught. I would love to see Alvarez fight GSP.

Seriously, I don't think I have seen TFK on the board since the fight. It might be time to call the local authorities:lol:

Alvarez just didn't look right. He was way too tentative, which isn't him. Whether that was out of respect for Aoki or for some other reason, I don't know, but he just didn't look right. Maybe it was the result of this being his 5th fight of the year.

He's still a great fighter, and from what I understand wants to concentrate on fighting in America in the near future, so hopefully that means he's gonna end up in the UFC. 155 is stacked, and there's a ton of great fights for him there.

aoki's flexibility is superb, from mounted to a leg trapped for a heel hook.

as an ex bjj player i dont understand where you would want to be against him, besides maybe on his back? reminds me of nino schembri and eddie bravo style(rubber guard, mission control, etc.)

he did look very tentative, I would not be shocked if they fought again and he beat Aoki. But you might be right, 5 fights in year is practically unheard of anymore.

I would love to see Alvarez in the UFC 155.

Beside having 5 fights, don't forget the dude had a serious cut just back in July.

I didn't know much about Alvarez until TFK ranked him in his Top 5 P4P. After that I watched as much as I could find. It seemed like he was far from his normal energetic self. Respect, wear and tear, or just a bad night I guess.

good call, lets not forget how good Aoki is on the ground. I still think Alvarez can beat Aoki, he just needs a better strategy

Which is why I called him a mental midget. Him being on the ground with Aoki was his own doing. That is STUPID. :atu:

Pride MW Division was 205, which is the UFC Lightheavy division. He was always huge at that weight, but got put to sleep by Chuck and Shogun, I think.
