Good call. I mean, if Cotto looked drunk in that picture or he was pouring some whiskey I could see the problem... but come on, the dude is drinking a glass of wine.

Nah, Cotto had done a lot more leading up to Margarito than Vargas had before Trinidad.

Its the whole thing... Cotto is taking a tune up is all. I hate tune ups as a fan but hey... I guess they are a good idea.

it is not even that, cos it won't tune anything....a tune up would be against a frindge contender......this fight is a confidence booster at best

true. I see them as pointless risks agianst this level of opposition. There is also a pressure to look spectacular. You want to bet people will be like "it took Cotto 3 rounds to put this kid down he is finished"

yeah, so it says how bad this fight if he gets shit for not winning inside 3!

....i wouldn't be so pissed off if it wasn't co-headlining with a fight of equal briefness

Cotto is quite better than Vargas and I'm pretty sure he'll still do good things.

Same here. Jennings is utterly, utterly average. And I mean average at domestic/euro level, not world level.

    He can't even punch.

He poses no threat whatsoever to Cotto.

Unless Cotto really has become a fucked up alcoholic, he should beat Jennings in 1 or 2 rounds, Jennings is not even close to being world class.

Why is Cotto drinking in a cesspool full of spider webs ???? Is it was pass as a trendy club in P.R. ( I'd guess it probably was Haloween nigh t)

I'm not sure about that. Talent wise Vargas was pretty much the same as Cotto prior to Tito ruining him. The REAL differance is that Vargas got ruined by a better fighter than Cotto got "possibly" ruined by.

Word is that Cotto is strength training his legs and is also working on his mid section. Not sure why but I got a feeling he's doing a few different things for the Margarito rematch. Anyone here know the real benefit of strength training your legs? Will it help with endurance any?

The moment I saw Jennings record, I knew why he was picked. This is a confidence builder for sure. Look for Cotto to look good and then maybe get a fight against one of the other welterweight champs. He should stay away from Margarito though.

Margarito would rightly be the favorite in a rematch, but Cotto is way too good not to have a chance if he can put forth the same effort he did in fight #1. Nobody can take punches like Margarito took and not get hurt sometimes.
