O'Grady actually wasnt a bad fighter. At least not on the night he beat the shit outta Hilmer Kenty. But could that version of O'Grady beaten a prime Mancini?
Agreed. O'Grady would put up a good fight for about 4-5 rounds, then Ray would take over and stop O'Grady in about the 8th.
Thank you, sir! Agree with the consensus here This would be a war and there would be blood in store for both of these guys (especially O'Grady, who bled the way only an Irishman could) but ultimately it comes down to who can take more punishment, and that is without a doubt Mancini, who was enormously brave and durable. Lots of back and forth here but O'Grady, despite being the bigger hitter and arguably better boxer, gets stopped here by the bullish Mancini in a crowd pleaser. MANCINI TKO 8
Agreed with the outcome, but do you really think O'Grady was the bigger hitter? He was the better boxer, but I think Ray had every bit the pop of O'Grady, if not more.
I do think so. Mancini was one of those guys who was heavy handed because he was strong, like a smaller version of Gene Fullmer for instance. O'Grady was more of a crisp technichal puncher, in my opinion. Still isn't enough for him to overcome "Boom Boom" though
