....he is generally considered the best heavyweight if not p4p MMA fighter by proper MMA fans, but how aware is the casual UFC fan, particuarly in the states, of Fedor?......are they just in a UFC bubble, eating up the hyperbole that is fed to them by the UFC?......do you MMA heads have to educate casual fans on Fedor? how well clued up is the average UFC ppv buyer on MMA as a whole? :dunno:
Fedor is a known commodity. There really aren't that many "casual" MMA fans, as such. The large proportion of MMA fans, are what would be classed as "hardcore". That will change as the sport grows though.
Fedor is a DIFFICULT "Sell" to CASUAL Fans... Mrs. REED is a CASUAL MMA Fan (REED Wouldn't Rate Himself as a "Hardcore" Fan Yet, but he's Getting There) & She's Pretty INDIFFERENT about Fedor...REED has Shown her Some of his Fights & Explained that he's Basically UNTOUCHABLE, the Michael Jordan of MMA...But All She See's is a PUDGY, EMOTIONLESS Guy w/a RECEDING Hairline, Wearing PANTIES::...Even the Tim Sylvia (Who See KNOWS from UFC) Beatdown DIDN'T Help Fedor's Case w/Her.... As GREAT as Fedor is, there's NATHAN "Interesting" about him ASIDE from his Fights...CASUAL Fans Need Bells & Whistles to BOLSTER the Appeal of a Fighter... Like Kimbo Slice for Example...He had the LOOK & The Youtube Cult Following to ACCENTUATE his MMA Bouts...Plus, he wasn't Bad N Interviews...If Fedor Spoke ENGLISH, that'd Help a TAD, but Mainly he's a Pretty UNinteresting Dude, from a Casual/Mainstream Perspective... REED:hammert:
Your wife needs educationing, Reed. Next time you're in bed with her, slap on a rear naked and tell her "This is what Fedor would do to you if you dissed him!" That'll teach her a lesson on the greatness of Fedor!!!
Quite a few casual MMA fans that i know haven't even heard of Fedor. All they know is what UFC shows them.
I agree, I went to a party for the Brock/Randy card. Most of who were there were "casual" mma fans. There knowledge is only that of the UFC. Most had never heard of Pride. I was educating them on Fedor, there was only two other guys there that knew of Fedor(my freinds), the rest had no idea. One guy asked me how I think he would of fared against Liddell in Chuck's prime:: In the U.S. , UFC is MMA.
