Indeed, I was surprised to hear he beat Jerson Ravelo to be honest.

Interesting thing about that card is, it's a mix MMA\Boxing card featuring the WWE's Bobby Lashley in his second MMA fight, as well as the debut of Cuban Judoka Hector Lombard.

I see Dewey Cooper is also boxing. I saw him box at a local show in Vegas about 2 years ago. He has a big local following there.

Anyway, here's the entire card....

MMA BOUTS

• Mike Hayes vs. Bobby Lashley
• Chad Mendes vs. Shannon Slack
• Adrienna Jenkins vs. Erin Toughill
• Hector Lombard vs. TBA
• Alexis Vila vs. Ben Nguyen
• Brandon Cash vs. Steve Gavin
BOXING BOUTS

• Champ Andre Ward vs. Henry Buchanon (for NABO super-middleweight title)
• Champ Manuel Quezada vs. Eric Boose (for WBC CABOFE heavyweight title)
• Shawn Estrada vs. TBA
• Dewey Cooper vs. Arthur Williams
• Poppies Martinez vs. TBA
• Chantal Cordova vs. Carina Moreno
TFK

You should see the self promoting he does. Flyers, photos. He even has the "Black Kobra" girls or something to that effect. He's pretty cool. I've talked to him a few times. I was wondering what happened to him.

I dont think Showtime is to blame. They wouldn't turn a Miranda fight down unless they got a BS offer from Goosen.

Yeah that wouldn´t make sense for Showtime, I guess HBO could do it.

that would be a massive step up....i doubt that he could handle Johnson

It seems a very odd one....he could make more gradual steps towards a super-middleweight title shot by taking on ranked contenders which won't present such a step up.....Dawson barely got past Johnson

fans can't complain though....it will be an intriguing contest if it happens

BoxingScene.com was informed that a fight between super middleweight prospect Andre Ward (17-0, 12KOs) and former light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson (48-12-2, 33KOs) is being discussed. If a deal can be reached, Ward, a 2004 Olympic gold medal winner, would move up to meet Johnson at a catch-weight of 170 or 171-pounds. Ward's last fight took place at 171. The last time Johnson weighed below 172 was in September 2000. He came in at 178 1/2 for his last fight.

Sounds pretty typical. Try to find an old fighter with a name who's mostly washed up to match your guy against.

However they aren't confident Johnson is old enough, so they want to make him leave everything in the gym by having him shed off more weight.

Ward will outbox Johnson clearly but have some shaky moments.

I'd take Johnson big as long as the extra few pounds don't leave him De La Hoyad.

Ward looking decent. He should spent some more time off the big show and develop his skills.

Only took Sugar Poo five rounds to throw his first power punch. A performance like that should result in an immediate lifetime TV ban.

Ward is just begging to be exposed. I have zero faith in this wannabe RJ. He's not even the best Andre in the division.

I mean, he should be right now fighting against the likes of Bika, Bute, Andrade, Green, Miranda. Instead he's fighting the sugar poos of the world. Fuck him! He's a fraud until proven otherwise.

Ward says he’s ready!

Unbeaten WBC #2/WBO #2/WBA #9/IBF #10 super middleweight and 2004 Olympic gold medalist Andre Ward, who thus far has been moved carefully in his 18 bout career, says he’s ready for a world title fight. “I’ll be watching tonight’s fight intently between Lucian Bute and Fulgencio Zuniga,â€￾ said Ward. “I believe the champion will retain his title. This is the fight I would love to get. It would be a great match. The challenge would be a great one and it is exactly the direction I would like to go in my career. He’s the champion trying to keep his title and I am a young lion trying to take it…I only want the big television fights, and where I can get 16,000 of my hometown fans in attendance. I’m very interested in taking on the winner of Bute vs. Zuniga or (Jermain) Taylor vs. (Carl) Froch but tonight I am rooting for Bute.â€￾

And after that, we'll still be waiting for him to step it up.

Miranda looks past it.
