Theese are some of the comments Rampage said on the beatdown show today, its all worth discussing. "I've never done anything to Wanderlei outside the ring, some people say I initiated the push but I have never pushed him. I'm always trying to be professional and act like a sportsman outside the ring." He stated that he jokes alot but never pushed people or acted like wand did back in japan. "Even after I lost two times to Wanderlei I never held it against him. I lost to Sakuraba and we are great friends today." He continued to speak about the old days. "Back in japan everyone was afraid of Wanderlei, fighters we're afraid to stand next to him, eat next to him. Fighters we're afraid to ride in the elevator with him. I was never afraid of Wanderlei like everyone else and that's why he didn't like me." those aren't the exact quotes word by word but it pretty much sums what he pointed out. Besides this he pretty much told what we already knew. He wasn't happy with the ref in their second fight and that he felt he wasn't ready to fight him the first time. oh and yeah he also wished Wand a speedy recovery! Even thou Rampage may have landed more shots than necissary when wand already was knocked out I kinda feel he's right about all the outside the ring bullshit. Wand acted kinda like a maniac back in japan. Even crocop commented that Wand acted like a maniac outside the ring. Chute boxe wasn't really known for being a group of angels. So chill out people. <!-- / message --> <!-- sig -->
I think Hanz and I touched on this as well in another thread. If you knew Wanderlei when he was back in Pride, you knew he was not what you would call a good sport:: He would talk shit and start fights all the time, outside, inside, he was a bully. I remember many times Wanderlei would have a guy's back and could have easily gone for the choke, but instead, he gets off to soccer kick the guy in the head. You aren't doing that unless you're intent is more about inflicting pain, than getting the sub:: I'm happy for Rampage, he's a good guy and I wanted to see him win. The extra punches didn't bother me mainly because of Wanderlei's past. But I will always think Wanderlei as the better fighter. When both were closer to their primes, Wanderlei brutally owned Rampage.
When did Wanderlai hit someone after the ref already stopped the fight ???? Who cares if he went the soccer kicking and stomps route instead of a choke, sure he was a violent mean person, but to my knowledge, he alway's did it within the rules and nobody could complain ( the only thing ''illegal'' he ever did that I can remember is holding the ropes wich was tolerated as long as it's not excessive ) about him being a dirty fighter. I'm not sure if Rampage did it on purpose, but if he did, he's a real piece of shit
Yep, that's my main problem with justifying the additional punches by claiming Silva was nasty back in Pride. Silva was a nasty beast in Pride. But he administered the brutal beatings within the rules. If you don't think he could have landed a late knee or punch when he destroyed Rampage your crazy.
Some of Ya'll R Really Making ALOT Out of those "Extra" Punches Rampage Landed on Wanderlai...REED Bets Wanderlai HIMSELF Isn't as Offended as Some of Ya'll Appear to B... REED:hammert:
I completely agree. I don't think Rampage did anything that went over the line, do I think it was maybe in the gray area? Sure, but so was Wanderlei holding the ropes and trying to stomp on a guys head. I agree with you as well Azazel, Wanderlei was nasty but never seen him do anything like say Babalu putting that guy to sleep after he tapped. I was just trying to say that Wanderlei skirted that line many times as well.
what focking pussy moderating is this here... 3 days then he does it again just to piss you off and another three days... :: and u can't even delete that bullshit...
