Yeah, Roy was scared shitless of a man he had already beaten. In the Hopkins-Jones case, 60/40 was fair considering at the time Roy was by FAR the bigger draw, and held a victory over Bernard. It was HOPKINS who priced himself out by demanding 50/50. But lets not beat a dead horse. As you were Double Loser.

ok. RJJ never priced himself out of a fight in order to duck tough competition. Tell me another one.

looking back, i would not have been the least bit surprised to see RJJ lose to Jirov, DM or any of the other guys he somehow managed to have a 15 year career and never face, despite the public's cry for the fights to be made.

what's hilarious is that after Nady beat Ruiz, RJJ was stuck between a rock and a hard place: either fight a real heavyweight or move back down and fight a legitimate contender at 175. Anything short of those two options would've exposed RJJ as the pussy he is and always was. And we all saw what happened.

the only fight RJJ showed an ounce of heart in was his first fight with Tarver. and it's still arguable that he won it.

RJJ was over-rated all along too.

MichalSHITsky didn't want any of ROY JONES.....it was up to him to fight ROY JONES JR....not the other way around...if was up to MichalSHITsky to come to the states and fight the best fighter in the WORLD...

Michal came to the states and took the next plane home never to return after Jones cracked Virgil Hill....

Jirov??:lol::lol::lol: Jones would've defeated him w/ ease....Fat James Toney took him apart.....Jirov would be lucky if he lands a punch on JOnes..w/ his slow as hands..and feet...

nice speculation. just like RJJ was going to KO Calzaghe and Trinidad. Meanwhile, Tito out-boxed him for 4 rounds before the size difference became a factor and we all know what happened in the Calzaghe fight in which RJJ became frozen with fear.

and two losses to Tarver? a guy who hasn't had a significant win since?

in the very least, RJJ was never as good as people thought. the only question is to what extent. and since he fought almost no worthy opponents until late in his career it's impossible to say, just the way he likes it. And just the way PBF likes it too by the way.

Trinidad/Calzaghe....you bring up guys that Jones fought when he was at the END of his career...:notallthere:

WHERE was CALZAGHE in the late 90's-early 2000's? He didn't want none of ROY JONES....at least Trinidad was trying to fight his way up to JONES...

Calzaghe is and opportunist who is now fighting all these great fighters...

Jones/Toney were not worthy??? ...Hill,Griffin,Johnson,Harding,Tarver were all solid guys....and JONES beat a bunch of guys that were rated highly by the alphabets...

You probably predicted RUIZ would KO JONES early....but when it didn't happen..and JONES dominated Ruiz....it was because of the NADY...:notallthere::notallthere::notallthere:

the same way Hatton vs. Castillo was inconclusive....:laughing:

I don't know if this was addressed, but Pacman's 60/40 split didn't factor in the UK money. Supposedly, now that he's seen that, 50/50 seems much better to him.

And as poor as the phillipines is, Pacquaio still brings in alot of fans from out there. I honestly don't think 60/40 is totally unreasonable. If you ask me, it's a good negotiating point.

Hatton has more FANS that will travel/Pay BIG MONEY to come see him fight.....

Pacquiao has more OPTIONS on the table as per fight..he can always go back down to 135..and fight MARQUEZ again for a 5-6 million...or more I DON"T KNOW...

Hatton has shit fight at 140 that will make him shitty money....best he can do MONEY wise is move up to 147 and get butcher by Cotto/Margarito...

Actually, Doub is 1 of those that Said Roy "Didn't have the BALLS" To Face Ruiz & that he'd "Believe the Fight was Happening when he Saw Roy in the Ring"...

But Instead of Making ANY Type of ADMISSION to how WRONG he was, Doub Glosses it Over as a Win for "Nady"...Just as Doub Screamed to the Hills that WHOlio Gonzalez had "The Right Style to Beat Roy Jones", THEN Said he was Being "Facetious", AFTER Gonzalez LOST 12-0...

Not really man. You do know the difference between watching a fighter in your own country and flying half way around the world, with hotel and ticket expenses. If Manny fighs in Manilla he could fill 10 stadiums fighting me or you.

Besides Manny has probably done better live gate numbers in the USA for the most part then has Hatton. Manny has fillipino American fans and all Hatton fans are from the UK.

It's not Manny, it's Bob Arum demanding the split.

Someone I know close to Manny has his doubts as to whether Manny can pull this out, he picks Manny, but just barely.

To quote my friend: "Manny is a high wire act with no net taking Hatton on."

Pacman selling out 10 stadiums in the Philli means shit cause tickets would be cheap..and the gates would add up to nothing...while Hatton can sellout 1 stadium in the uk for the same gate money....

About Manny in the States...he has been fighting the greatest mexican fighters of his generation.....MAB/Morales were very popular before Manny...while Hatton has been relegated to fighting the less popular fighters at 140...

If Pacquiao can make so much more money fighting in the Phillipines, then why is Arum so insistant on forcing him to take less money to fight in the States?

Yeah sure, but thats because it's a 3rd world country. People on here act like Hatton have more fans then does Manny. Manny has fans from hardcore boxing fans, casual fans worldwide, Fillipino Americans and he is a God in the Phillipines. Hatton just has British fans.

In this discussion, the number of fans is only important in determining the money.

So, if British fans, in smaller number, have more money, and spend more, on Hatton's fights - traveling to the US, ordering on pay per view in the UK - then, seriously, what the fuck does the rest of you're saying matter?

Of course he can't make more money fighting there. When i say/type that. I typed that he can fill stadium after stadium fighting in the Phillipines and you know like i do it's true. Another truth is that nobody fromthe Phillipnes can afford to come to USA and watch him fight and he still sells out arenas. Without fans flying from the UK Hatton couldn't sell out a bingo hall in America.
