Exactly. Unless your name is Mike Tyson or Oscar De La Hoya you need a dance partner to help sell the show.

It sucks that Manny as the most exciting fighter in the sport can't draw as many viewers as some washed up fighters but it is what it is.

I think it's better for fans this way anyhow. The only fights that should ever be on PPV are competitive ones.

How good would Hatton have done on PPV vs Mallignaggi or Collazo man.

Sure Manny need a dance partner but so does Hatton. All them fans came to the Mayweather fight but he didn't sell out against Paulie.

Sure i even think that Hatton should get a huge cut of British ppv if they fight. However Pac should get a bigger cut of the PPV cut from HBO because people in USA will order for him.

However Manny would probably have more fans at the arena with all of his fillipino american fans there. Even against Oscar Pac had alot of fans in attendence.

Like balls he can. Hatton sold out a football stadium after LOSING brutally in his previous fight and whilst fighting a guy the vast majority in attendance in Manchester had never even heard of.

Manny v Hatton in England would fill Wembley stadium...

I'm not saying that Manny hasn't got lots of fans; of course he has.

But Hatton's fans travel, by the thousand, wherever he fights. So much so that I'm not sure he's ever had a fight where his supporters haven't out numbered those of the guy he's fighting. If he fights Manny in the states, which is very likely, at LEAST ten thousand or so will travel. Again. Which pretty much makes them a majority in any of the major US venues I'd reckon...

Ten thousand seems a very safe estimate.

Some reports I read here had it at 20,000 for the Mayweather fight.

    Precisely.

Let me put it this way; Hatton has been the ONLY consistent PPV fighter in the UK since Lennox Lewis. We are pretty much antithetical to PPV over here; even Calzaghe's fights have either been on ITV or Setanta Sports (a subscription sports channel at a ten pounds per month), but Ricky pulls plenty of money via PPV here.

Manny might be a God in his home country, but there is no financial yardstick in that for the money men to consider. And Manny should know that...

    I said safe.

I didn't say it would be the same as Mayweather.

    But that's a reference number.

To be honest, I'm not sure how many would travel this time; certainly not as many as for the PBF fight I'd wager. Hatton was unbeaten and that fight was HUGE over here- front page news in fact. Manny is pretty big here, but Hatton has lost a bit of his lustre and some of those who travelled for Floyd might consider it 'once bitten, twice shy' and not make the trip this time. Then add the credit crunch. I think ten thousand might be a better mark than twenty thousand...

For all that, those who didn't go WOULD almost certainly buy the PPV.
