http://nokaut.com/?id=12&solo_news=2...14f7999ff6af77 The card for UFC 96 has been short a main event since the show was reported late last year, but it appears that the show which is scheduled for Columbus, OH on March 7th could be getting a serious injection of star power with a championship on the line. New UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans could possibly be defending his title against Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in the main event of the card, dependent on whether both men will be able to make the quick nine-week turnaround from fighting at UFC 92 in late-December to fight again at the beginning of March. Jackson looked impressive in his victory over Wanderlei Silva at the year-end event, dropping "The Axe Murderer" with a one-punch knockout, while Evans grounded and pounded his way to a third-round TKO win over Forrest Griffin in the night's main event. There are no other challengers in the Light Heavyweight division outside of Thiago Silva and Lyoto Machida, who will meet at the end of this month at UFC 94 in Las Vegas, and Forrest Griffin sidelined until the fall of 2009. Jackson's plans to face Griffin in a rematch before taking a title shot seem to have been put on hold and Jackson now appears to be poised to regain the championship he lost to Griffin at UFC 86 in July. <!-- / message --> <!-- sig --> __________________
Let's SEE it!!!:cheer:... 1 of the Things REED LIKES about the UFC is that they DON'T Babysit their Champions...Soon as a Guy WINS a Title, he's Got a TOUGH Ass Fight on the Horizon... Evans is Spectacularly UNimpressive OR UNimpressively Spectacular::...That's THE BEST Way to Describe him...Most of his Fights R Rather MUNDANE Until the Moment Rashad Ends it SPECTACULARLY...Rampage DOESN'T Strike REED as the Most FOCUSED Fighter Out There & Rashad is the Type of Guy that LULLS his Opponents to Sleep... Rashad WON'T KO Rampage, but REED Could See him Doing just a BIT More, as Forrest Did... REED:kidcool:
So Rampage "Should" Beat an UNDEFEATED Former Collegiate Wrestler "Easily"???:dunno:... It's 1 thing to PICK Rampage, but "Easily"... REED:hammert:
Honestly, for this fight, I disagree. I think the UFC is trying to get the belt off of Rashad ASAP. They will throw everyone at him until this happens. There will be no "Babalu" type fighters for Rashad as long as he is champion. I don't think it is a racial thing really, but I do think that they aren't confident that they can market Rashad as a draw. Rampage has more name value for sure. That being said, I look for Rashad to continue to piss off the management and win.
To their Credit, REED has Gotten ZERO Racial Vibes from UFC...Anderson Silva is Black & he Gets MORE of a Push than Anybody... From the African AMERICAN Perspective, Rampage Actually Makes it HARDER on Other UFC Brothers, Because Everybody EXPECTS the Over the Top Type of Personality that he Has...It'll Definitely B DIFFICULT Turning Rashas Evans into a DRAW...He's Low Key Almost to a FAULT & his Fights Teeter on BORING Until the Very End... REED:kidcool:
Evans is quicker and more athletic, plus he's smarter.I think he'll beat Jackson The thing about Evans is that he knows how to win and knows how not to lose. He's not afraid to do what he has to do to not lose that 0
