    No, not head to head:doh:

In terms of dominance while they were/are on top of their respective sports. Who's reign is more impressive??

    Fedor.

Tyson may have looked more fierce and has a better highlight reel of taking out victims but Fedor has defeated everyone he has faced.

It is so tough to compare.....MMA is still in its infancy.......Tyson burst onto the scene approx 100 years into boxing history.....he was like nothing we had seen before

We haven't got as much context with Fedor.....the sport isn't as developed and he is still out there competing.....yes he's (effectively) undefeated now, but will it stay that way.....it will be very tough for him to get out with that intact

what struck me about Tyson the most was the fear he installed in his opponents.....not just fear of losing, but genuine fear for their health

Hared to compare. tyson was in the American limelight, Fedor isnt.

However, Fedor has fought and beat the tougher opponents.

Tyson had the star power over Fedor for sure. Tyson was part of pop-culture, he crossed over from the sports world and was known by just about everyone. Fedor is really only known by fans. Now this arguement is based upon what is relavent in the U.S. I don't have a way of knowing Fedor's popularity in Russia. When I speak to Russians(and other nationalities of the former Soviet Union) over here they seem to know more about the Klitschkos than Fedor. Now as far as reign and resume, you have to go with Fedor.

Tyson was a far more inspiring figure. He looked bad, his highlight reel wowed everyone, he had a scary name and an aura. Fedor just looks like a chubby guy who knows some tricky arm twists on the ground.

In far as who is actually more dominant. I'd say it's pretty close. For 3 or 4 years Tyson was pretty much unbeatable.

hmmm how about comparing ali to fedor in terms of dominance and competition? it isnt tysons fault that he's faced crap competition and i dont believe the comp in ali's era would've stood that much of a chance against him.

All UFC fans know who fedor is, saying that he isnt as popular as tyson because he's not in the UFC doesnt make sense.

who are the best fighters fedor's faced thus far:

crocop- fomer k-1 champ who switched to mma and dominated the heavyweight devision with only a years worth of bjj experience.

noguira - OK, nogs a legend and so is crocop to an extent.

only difference being that fedors beaten 2 of the best fighters he's faced in his prime. we've all seen tysons demise, not fedors so its not suprising that we'd lean towards fedor as being the more dominant at the moment.

The popularity isn't an issue imo. Tyson's popularity dwarfs Fedor's. But Fedor has beaten everyone in his way minus a loss due to a cut. Tyson didn't have anywhere near the mental capability of Fedor. Fedor has kept his cool against the HW's best. Not just Nog and CroCop, but Sylvia,Arlovski, Randleman, Fujita, Coleman, and Hunt. And those are just known names, if you know mma, the list is even more.

But honestly, its a hypothetical question, if you like Tyson more, you will make the arguement for him. If you like Fedor more, of course you will make it for him.

Boxing is a more evolved sport and it is way harder to KO people in 1-2 rounds in boxing then it is in MMA. Thats why i say it.

Which makes it all that much harder NOT to get knocked out in 1-2 rds.
