You are mean. It would not be nice to see an old man break his heart time and time again as Tyson screws up (remember you can only change one thing:kidcool:)

True, but let's face it Cus living longer would not have saved Tyson from anything. He was a good father figure for a child but Tyson at 20 was supposed to take responsibility himself

I agree. I would abolish the "alphabet soup". Except I would only have 1 sanctioning body and I would keep the cruiserweight division 190. I might also split the heavyweight division into heavy (upto 230lbs) and have a super heavy above that.

    Also.....

Tommy Hearns over SRL in '81.

SRL doesn't get injured and fights MMHagler sooner.

Oscar fights Winky Wright instead of Javier Castillejo? for that 154 belt he claims.

Finally....judges being held accountable for hoooorrrible scorecards. :kick:

The traditional weightclasses post by jarhead is fantastic and I agree with that one...

but honestly, not to sound corny, but I'd want to prevent the deaths of every brave young fellow who has given his life for this sport which does such a terrible job of taking care of it's own

I would change all the deaths in the sport to the corner throwing in the towel or the ref stopping the fights.

Good question and I'm not sure I really have an answer. Others have mentioned the stuff that matters (saving lives/careers and such) but if Im picking ONE moment, thats purely for my own selfish boxing experience?

Quartey gets his hand raised vs Oscar.

Cus had a hold on Mike but that was before Don King got interested of him. After King put his machine to work, offered tens of millions, limousine rides and super models to Mike, I think Tyson at that age would have forgotten Amato anyway

On that note, I would be a much happier boxing fan if Thomas Hearns had gotten the official decision in the rematch with Leonard. Everyone, including Leonard, knows Hearns won that fight, but it would have been much better if the judges' decision was correct as well.

Even though everybody (including Ray) know Tommy won the fight somehow it's still not the same without the 'W' on his record.

It's strange how boxing writers automatically dismiss Whitaker's "draw" with Chavez as an automatic win, but they just won't seem to offer Tommy the same support.

I agree. Leonard broke through a couple of times and at the end he had Tommy in trouble, but Tommy won that fight clean. Love Hearns, he was fucking great

    Absolutley

He was a MAGNIFICENT boxer and at welterweight he was the greatest puncher I've ever seen (obviously, he carried a great deal of that power with him as he moved up... but 147 was where he was a beast)
