Benitez with consummate ease. Not only a class above Tony (who I really like BTW), but a horrible style match up for him, IMO.
As long as he bothers to train for the fight, I like Benitez to befuddle Margarito fairly easily of course if he showed up overconfident and out of shape... just ask Bruce Curry
benitez could barely get past palomino. i'm not saying that margarito would win, but it's certainly no walk in the park for the bible of boxing.
This is correct but I think the main thing it demonstrates once again is that no fighter is quite as good as the memory of him. Mythical match-up between Benitez and Palomino would also be a shutout or a late stoppage in favor of Benitez. That being said styles do favor Benitez here so he should be the clear winner but it is not like he would toy with Margarito
I dont think he would toy with Marg either. Marg's rough n tough style would give Benitez some problems, but ultimately Margarito is too slow. Benitez would keep him in center ring, pepper him with jabs, nail him with right hand leads, then dip to the side.
There is no way you have seen that fight if that is what you think Palomino couldn't lay a glove on Benitez the whole fight, it was a one sided win. There was one judge who claim ed the sun affected his vision, he scored for Palomino by one point. The others correctly had it a clear cut win for Benitez, which is EXACTLY what it was.
