Nah, her sister was a typical looking pretty latino chick. I liked that she looked a little odd, different, exotic, whatever.

...........and I didn't jack off to her or nothin'. Just said she was "cute".

 

funny ass movie! It was a stoner movie with some action in it.

I don't understand the people that watched this movie and complained about it. It is what it is.

If you've sen a Judd Apatow movie before you should know what kind of comedy and cast to expect.

Personally I like all Apatow movies. This was not the best of the bunch but was entertaining. opcorn:

 

The Great Happiness Space: Tale of an Osaka Love Thief






Fascinating documentary about clubs in Japan (host clubs) that service mostly younger women with lots of money. Mostly non-sexual they sell women the illusion of love, companionship, etc.. in a party atmosphere.

You realize the differences between men and women and what they value when PAYING for a companion.

The twist is who most of these young women turn out to be, which I won't give away here.

It's also obvious that many of the men who service these women are able to do so without conscience because they most likely do not like women in that way at all.

Pineapple Express was terrible. It wasn't even remotely funny. And I like the Apatow stuff. Hell, I even used to watch Undeclared. But this was God awful.

It's funny because as impressed as I was with Superbad, I took one look at the Pineapple Express trailer and said I have no interest in seeing that, and I don't care how good the critics or anyone else say it is, I ain't watching it.

 

I never saw undeclared! Freaks and Geeks was hilarious though.

 

I usually go by the trailer or if I like the director or actors in the movie.

I never give a shit about reviews. I've seen good movies that people hate and I've seen shitty movies like "Snatch" that people call classic movies. :doh:

I never understood why some people care who is in a movie. Like they may not go watch a movie just because an actor they don't like is in it. IMO there is no actor or director who can be the overall factor in determining if I want to see a movie or not. The story will always be the main factor and if the trailer looks good, I'm there. Now an actor/director can boost how much I want to see a movie, like if Denzel is the lead in a movie that already looks good, that's a plus.

Not liking Snatch doesn't make him a horrible person. A person with horrible taste definitely, but a horrible person, no.

well if you watch 3-5 movies with a certain actor and he happens to be really good. Guess what? you become a fan based on his track record.

UnderWorld: Rise Of The Lycans 5/10




As osfan sits through the movie, the thought of Been There, Seen That comes into mind. This prequel serves absolutely no purpose at all, maybe they want to provide more insight into the "whys" of the war between vampires and the lycans (half human half werewolves). Kate Beckinsale did make a cameo appearance in the movie. Michael Sheen plays Lucian, a drastic departure from his role of David Frost in Frost/Nixon.

Pretty good movie and original storyline. The real star of the story was India and the impoverished conditions there. I feel so bad that people live in terrible conditions. It really makes you think about how lucky we really are. As for the main character, I was rooting him the whole time and shared his tribulations. The girl is truly beautiful. I will never make fun of Hanzy or dsimon's Indian heritage again.

 

Burn After Reading: Smart, and entertaining as hell. Highly recommend. 8/10

let's see more movies set in the developing world - that's where the only real drama takes place. if they need to sacrifice realism and make characters speak english to make it commercial and reach a wide audience, so be it.

this movie brought the minority bollywood audience and the mainstream audience under the same roof here in britain - and at the end of the movie both groups left happy, and closer to one another. a huge leap in cultural understanding, achieved in 90 minutes.

 

generally, if e.g. keira knightley, keanu reeves, julia roberts, orlando bloom, sandra bullock, that asshole 'van wilder' guy are in a movie, it's crap.

generally, if e.g. ralph fiennes, clooney, julianne moore, kate winslet, dicaprio are in a movie, it's good or interesting.

of course there are exceptions - just general trends. the trends arise from the actor's picks, and the studio's picks. if they're looking for gravitas, they dont call keanu. if they're looking for banal, they dont call julianne moore.

aside from that, some actors are just irritating. i just cant physically stomach watching keira knightley. seriously, intolerable.

I thought it was dull from start to finish.

I had some free advance tickets and i'm still pissed off at the time i wasted watching it.
