All credit to Shane Mosley and his team for devising a smart and effective game plan, that was executed beautifully.

I've never seen such a raucous crowd get so quiet in such a short amount of time.

20820 people shut the fuck up in a hurry.

 

I felt bad for Mosley who got booed IN CALI. He got the last laugh though.

 

He made Margarito look like Antonio Diaz.

Not to sound racist.... but Mexicans just cant fuck with Shane. Forget Manny, Shane is the TRUE Mexican killer.

I just re-watched the fight and while Mosley fucked him up, Margarito simply could do nothing with what he brought to the table. Shane tied him up early to stifle the Margarito body attack and it worked. No points deducted and the flow sufficiently slowed.

On the outside he did what he should have done; pound the fuck out of Toni while the space is there. It was ugly at the end.

 

fucking a. that was the MOST impressive win of shane's entire career!

 

Word. He whupped Margarito's ass something brutal.

 

It was a true delight to watch last night. That was a classic beating!

 

i always thought that mosley lacked that signature win great fighters have. sure, he beat oscar an impressive fashion the first time, but this win over margarito trumps them all.

he's a LOCK for the hall of fame.

 

People talk about Shane's holding, but as the fight wore on Margarito was the one initiating the clenches. He also went into retreat mode at times.

I think the shot that started it all was around 1 minute left in the 8th round. Margarito hits Shane with a good overhand right, you see Shane frown as if to say "damn, I shouldn't have gotten hit with that." Margarito presses forward then runs into a left hook then a HUGE uppercut to the body. Margarito comes forward, freezes then steps away from Shane, seemingly hurt from the bodyshot. Shane backs him to the ropes then they tie up...once they come off the ropes that starts the sequence when Shane grazes him with that crazy ass right uppercut then lefthook which badly hurts Tony.

Complete destruction of Margarito.

 

Tam, like I said before, Marge is basically a bum with a good chin and stamina.

A cheating bum too.

 

Mosley also used his head pretty effectively there, which might have kept Margarito from getting too comfortable close.

 

I kept telling everyone that Margarito has been getting killed in sparring and was almost knocked out a few times. I picked him to win, but I didn't realize that the Cotto fight took so much out of him.

Shane was smart to go the body.. early on he landed a couple viscious body shots and it looked like it hurt Margerita a bit

Shane's biggest win to date. He can retire right now and go straight to the HOF. Impressive career, coming up from welterweight to beat the best WW. Then years later, after disappointing loses, destroying the top WW, when we all tagged him "shot". Resembling Nelson's win over Ruelas.

 

Shanes biggest win HAS to be the first De La Hoya fight. Sure he was a bigger underdog here, but the scalp of Oscar is just much more important.
