Mosley Ko's Berto inside of 5 rounds.....and it has nothing to do w/ what MOsley did to Margarito....it's just Berto....the guy just reacts weird to getting hit....and surely dish it to the body...but doesn't like taking it...as Collazo show in their fight..... Mosley by KO.....
I'm probably off on this, but I wouldn't dismiss Berto's chances at this point. And I've never been that high on Berto.
He might never be ready. I like Berto, he seems like a good guy, and seems to have heart, but he's just simply not an elite fighter. His best bet is to wait til Mosley, Marg, and Cotto have both feet in thier graves before he thinks bout fighting them.
I don't necessarily disagree with you, because I doubt that Berto is improving much at all and I don't really see what he can change to correct whats really wrong with him. That said, he's still young so Im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
Actually that's not the fight Berto wants. If fucking Collazo was shaking Berto up, Shane should KO his ass pretty early.
Berto won't be an open target as Margarito was, plus the kid got more stamina than Shane. The speed matchup would be interesting. Berto might win by close UD if he can stay away from Mosley's body shots. Mosley might win if he manages to hurt Berto early and discourage him.
Berto sucks. He lost to Collazo and would have no chance against Mosley. Berto doesn't even know how to box and there's no way he would knock Mosley out. Barring a set of fixed judges, as in the Collazo fight, Berto has no chance ever of beating a Mosley that hasn't reached his 40th birthday.
Berto's defense is worse than Margarito's - plus he doesn't have the height advantage that Margarito did. Berto is so over-rated it's hilarious. All thanks to his corrupt pomoter who having overseen HBO's boxing program knows more than anyone how to fix fights and pick opponents for his fighters. Berto is awful. He fights like a standup MMA fighter. The only problem is he does so with 8 ounce gloves. He'll never legitimately beat a top 10 fighter.

REED, a fighter (in this case Margarito) can have severe defensive liabilities and still have a superior defense than Berto's. Did you watch Berto/Collazo? If Berto wasn't wailing punches like a toughman, his hands were down and he was squared up and an easy target for any fighter. Watch Berto/Collazo again. There's not a single hint of defense on Berto's part. His defense is almost non-existent. I'm not claiming that Margarito's defense is good or even adequate. But it's nontheless better than Berto's. And if and when Berto faces a guy who can punch, you'll find that out quickly.
The Collazo Fight is ONE Instance, Doub...Margarito has a CATALOGUE Full of Fights where he Exhibited ATROCIOUS Defense...He Gets Hit w/Hard, FLUSH Shots MORE than ANY "Elite" Fighter N Recent Memory... Generally (but NOT Always), when People PRAISE your Chin, it's Because your Defense SUCKS...Berto Certainly DOESN'T have Margarito's Chin & WILL Get KO'ed a Few Times, B 4 his Career is Over... I can't believe shane acted like he didn't want to fight Berto, saying he reminded him of himself, and was a young tiger etc. I swear, if Shane can produce HALF the performance he had on Saturday, he'd eat Berto alive, give him a 1 sided beating. I used to disagree with the Berto nay-sayers, and think he was a pretty good fighter, but actually he isn't. He couldn't even beat Collazo, and looked like an average fighter with fast hands. And yes Mosley is more skilled than Berto for sure.
