ok here is the question I have if he is suspended by the cali athletic commission does that mean he cant box anymore, anywhere? I have heard of fighters being suspened before but still being able to fight overseas like Edwin Valero...so would that hold true for someone like Marga-plaster-of-paris-ito???

Pretty much. Sanctioning bodies can refuse to acknowledge anything he does afterward, but a suspension in the U.S. doesn't mean anything legally in the rest of the world.

 

Most LEGITIMATE Commissions HONOR the Suspensions of Other Commissions...Then there's the TEXAS or West Virginia Commissions, who Gave Guys like Holyfield & Tommy Morrison Boxing Licenses, Even when NOBODY Else would...

Lets be fair is all. But if things turn out to be as they appear people should acknowledge that the Cotto fight was a farce... I know that would mean a lot to Illum and it would mean a lot to me considering that Cotto refused to clinch in that fight and may have been hurt bad because of it.

 

If this is proven without any doubt, he should be banned, his Trainer banned and his victory against Cotto should be stricken from the record books.

What does this have to do with Cotto? Different commissions entirely. The NSAC are an extremely thorough commission and have employee's supervising the handwrapping.

If the substance was "hardening" on fight night, finding out precisely what it is is a formality. It's like doing an autopsy...the guy is dead, the matter of "how" he died doesn't vary the degree of how dead he is.

I don't care what the state finds, he's guilty in my book. Does anyone know ANY trainer who packs away tape two weeks in advance? The excuse was laughable. Guaze "accidentally" stored in a moist towel to weeks before the fight.

Simply laughable. As soon as I heard that, I knew they cheated. My guess is, the substance will come back negative "however" the procedure, their reasoning will be found suspect warranting some kind of suspension.

I don't believe they'd be so stupid to actually use a foreign substance...they'd found a way to cheat with what they had. If I'm the state of california...I've got several scenarios similar to what they claim running prior to the hearing. Suspending him now tells me they don't buy the excuse.
