Nah, he Weighed in Wearing Underwear....He's ALOT Taller than Guida...Looked to B like 5-6 INCHES... We just MIGHT have to Start a Bangwagon After this 1, Brother JARHEAD... REED:cheer:
IF Nate beats Clay, he definitely needs a bandwagon:bears:, did you notice they didn't shake after the photo op?
In Some Pre-Fight Piece, Nate was Saying that he DIDN'T Want to Sit Next to Guida, Talk to Him, Shake his Hand or ANYTHING...He Said it was NATHAN Personal, just that he DISLIKES Guys that he's about to Fight... REED Always SCARED for the Skinny Guy, when his Fights Start, but he Always Comes Thru... REED:hammert:
I just cannot see how Guida won the fight. I guess it pays to just hold a guy and inflict zero damage. All Guida did was hug. One guy came to fight, the other came to be a fucking human octopus. I thought Diaz inflicted more damage and Guida had NOTHING for Nate standing.
agREED... N the Short Time REED's Been Watching MMA that's THE WORST Decision REED's Seen...By Faaaaaaaaaaaaaar.... REED:hammert:
Sometimes TOOO much credit is given for control. Guida absolutely controlled Diaz on the ground and in the clinch while standing. However, he didn't inflict much damage nor did he look to grab a submission. In my opinion, the control by Guida offset the better striking by Diaz and the fight should have been a draw. That being said, Guida is a non-stop animal in there.
That's one of the problems with MMA (and to a lesser extent boxing) - the old lay and pray. Or in this case, sort of stand and pray too. Diaz won the fight, it was a shit decision. I like both Diaz's. I was a fan of Nick Diaz ever since he pummeled Robbie Lawlor.
A non stop animal that somehow inflicted no damage at all, and has no killer instinct? He clinched non stop I guess, I'll give you that, and I guess he does look like a caveman, so animal-like.
Guida DOESN'T have Much N the Way of SKILLS...His BEST Attributes R His ENERGY, STRENGTH, TOUGHNESS, G & P....He DOES have a Good "Look" for Fighting Though...The HAIR & the Way he Hops Around Fits his MANIC Style of Fighting Perfectly... REED:mj:
A Draw WOULDN'T have Been Out of the Question Either...Guida had Better "Cage Control" Overall Since Diaz COULDN'T Prevent Guida's Lay & Pray Tactics... But Diaz DOMINATED Guida for the MAJORITY of Rounds 1 & 3 w/his BOXING... REED:mj:
Diaz had such a strange and weak looking boxing in that fight, I still can't believe he ko'd a supposed stand up beast like Llawler like that.
Lawlor just isn't that good. He's way overrated. He just hits pretty hard, that's about it. His fights are always fun to watch though.
I had a hard time scoring his boxing because, and I'm not just bashing right here, he slaps his punches like a girl.
I guess. I thought the only clear round in the fight was the second, which Guida won. The first and third were closer rounds, so I don't have a problem with 2-1 either way.
Well, 1 Guy was Swinging (Or Slapping as U Say::) & LANDING while the Other Guy was CATCHING & RETREATING...No, it WASN'T a Sweet Pea or MayweatherESQUE Display of Pugilistic Skills, but Diaz's Boxing was Clearly SUPERIOR to Guida's.... & REED Thought it was Enough to EEK Out a Decision or @ Least Earn a DRAW... REED:hammert:
That is still a favorite UFC fight of mine. anyone that never saw it, check this highlight about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWAdgcNtlj0
Another good one is Nick Diaz vs Karo parisyan. I hate Karo, but damn that was a good display of ground skill.
I hare Karo as well. That fight was good at first, but kind of turned into a takedown contest IMO. Karo got more takedowns
Karo/Sanchez was a much better fight. Round 1 of the Diaz fight was good, the rest was really sloppy/ Karo/Sanchez was awesome all the way through.
I am not sure what his gameplan is as a fighter anymore. He used to be a beast on the ground and he just doesn't seem that way anymore. You are right, he doesn't use his Judo very effectively anymore. His last fight against the Korean was awful IMO. I think he could also be at 155, where he would be a title contender instantly.
