Can't believe this site is so dead after this fight!!:dunno: Gotta give it to Vic. Complete bad ass in every way possible. Even his naysayers have to give him props on this victory tonight. Not only that, but i was pretty impressed by his defense tonight also!artie:
If he beats Donaire decisively, he will have my respect. Arce looked terrible offensively. I have to think that Donaire catches him again.
I was mad when the ref stopped the fight in the round break. I wanted to see Arce being stopped while in the fight. Now he and all the 'cabrones' are coming with a bunch of excuses.:shit:
Nah, I hope Shaw feeds Vic to the sharks (Marquez, Lopez, De Leon) I want to see the little hairless rat take a career ending beating.
Please tell me you are being sarcastic. Saw this post heading up to bed and could not make it up the stairs without addressing it. Darchinyan looked HORRIBLE tonight. He literally flails 50% of the time. Flails. When he engages or when he comes in to punch his head is straight up in the air. Since his hands are always down, he is very open to getting clocked at all times. Donaire beats him 10 out of 10 times. No question. Arce came in the ring tonight fighting like a damned amateur from a toughman contest, and I will tell you what - until Arce ran out of gas at about round 6 (which is pathetic in and of itself), he was absolutely in this fight. And whenever Jorge threw a wild flop that connected, he rocked Darchinyan. Darchinyan rarely appears "hurt" or "wobbled", but you can see that every time someone taps that chin, he staggers a bit. His chin is NOT good, as seen in the Donaire fight where 1 sharp, but frankly modest punch had him so out of it he could not even get to all fours properly. Vic Darchinyan should have CRUSHED Jorge Arce tonight. Plain and simple. Anything else has to be looked at as a disappointment at this point in their careers. I was totally shocked at how long this fight went, and how bad both men looked. After the Donaire loss, I thought Vic was improving and slowly addressing some of his bad habits, but at this point it is quite obvious that he is too stuck in his bizarre style to fix a lot of things. Any reasonable boxer who can counter Darchinyan, and particularly catch him coming in will dispense with him quickly. My god, he is perpetually off balance. Had Arce actually stepped IN towards Vic, but to his (Arce's) LEFT, he would have found Vic open all night long, and likely off balance to boot. As was the case in the Donaire fight, if Vic's rhythm is upset by popping or tagging him coming in, he ends up off balance and impotent. Also, I don't know why it was never mentioned by the crack commenting team at Showtime, but didn't anyone notice that Darchinyan CAN NOT FIGHT A LICK when he is going backwards?!? The minute Arce got Darchinyan moving backwards it was like open season! Vic could not punch, could not get his hands up, and kept that chin raised high in the air, totally exposed. In fact, Vic could not even reset to throw a single punch until he had literally backed up completely out of range, or Arce stopped following. Watch the fight again (anyone who actually cares), and you will see that Darchinyan has a total of TWO meaningful punches. He loads up on either the straight left, or the left uppercut EVERY time he squares up. Almost never jabs in any significant way. He is always just kind of crabbing into position to throw one of those 2 punches. He may follow up with other punches if he hurts his opponent, but as far as the opponent goes, if they can neutralize that left hand as a lead punch, it's game over. Darchinyan's style is his undoing. A decent opposing trainer would be able to see these many flaws and take advantage. I actually like Vic a lot more than I used to, since he has proven he is willing to take on anyone, and is supremely confident. The guy is extremely athletic, tough, and has good stamina. But the minute he gets in the ring with another quick, technically sound boxer (it will probably be a nobody who is a 10:1 underdog), he will get flattened again.
Honestly, REED CAN'T Take Darchinyan Seriously UNTIL he Revisits Donaire...Even if Darchinyan Gets Stretched AGAIN, REED would have MORE Respect for him than he Currently Does... REED:hammert:
Gary Shaw said that will never happen. Vic was asked after the fight if he would fight Donaire. Immediately he said yes and then Shaw butted in and said it would never happen. He sounded like the fucking mafia. Said boxing doesn't reward those who are disloyal. :shit: I'm actually surprised this hasn't gotten more play here.
That fat fuck is a liar and a blowhard, by plenty of accounts...nothing would surprise me as far as he is concerned, particularly when a camera is in the vicinity it appears
If Vic's HALF the "BadAss" that he THINKS he is, He Should WANT a RE...He Should B RIDING Shaw's Ass UNTIL he Gets a RE.... REED:mj: ps. FUCK Gary Shaw...
Darchin is one of my favorite for a midget...but he is a sucker for left hooks....so Nonita chick by KO..
Donaire has looked like garbage in just about every fight of his entire career....save one perfect showing against Darchinyan. One wonders what kind of fighter he really is. He's been struggling with far lesser caliber fighters than the Montiel's, Mijares', Arce's and Darchinyan's of the world since he stretched Vic.
When U ARE or USED to B Considered Great, THEN a Guy WAXES your Ass, it's IMPERATIVE that you @ Least REVISIT your Conqueror @ Least 1nce.... Even if U LOSE AGAIN to that Same Guy, U've @ Least GOT to ACCEPT the Idea of a RE....Donaire is THE Guy that Vic MUST REVISIT... REED:hammert:
Im not saying they shouldn't fight again. The post was more about Donnaire than anything else. That fight won't happen though and its not because both guys don't want it.
agREED that it's IMPERATIVE that Donaire KEEP HIMSELF in the Picture for a Darchinyan Fight...U've GOT to Stay RELEVANT No Matter What... REED:hammert:
I see Donaire is scheduled to fight Raul Martinez in March. I think Raul is damn good. Montiel is scheduled to fight Morel in March. There will be at least 2 guys for Darchinyan in his weight class that make for compelling fights and 3 if donaire loses...which he very well might.
