Arce just sucks against south-paws. That's the only reason he lost. Because Vic happens to be left-handed and Arce has no idea how to deal with that.

What amazed me was Arce's chin. He stood up to the hardest left hands Vic has to offer, both the upper and the straight left.

Arce just looked like shit and it was because he doesn't know how to fight a south-paw apparently.

So who wins in the rematch? Nonito Donaire or Darchinyan?

i hope arce got paid a lot for that beating. he's finished.

darchinyan wants to fight vasquez. i'd like to see him in a tune-up at 122 before that bout taking place.

does anyone really give Vic a chance at beating Marquez or Vazquez? You think they're gonna fall for his lunging left upper-cut?

And the height advantage in both cases would not be insignificant.

i know; i couldn't believe he wanted a rematch. that right there tells you he got paid pretty well. there's no way he thinks he can win. he just wants another payday.

is Shawtime, I don't care what it's called, will demand Vic/Donaire II, even if Shaw doesn't want to.

not at all...neither would any fight w/ the other top guys 122

Darchin best chance w/ probably be vs. Juanma since he is youngest of the bunch....and Marquez cause of his questionable chin...

disagree. Juanma is a southpaw too, which means Vic wouldn't have the southpaw advatage he's so used to having and that makes him so dangerous.

They'd both be confused in there, but I think Juanma would KO Vic as easily as any of the other guys.

Marquez's less than solid chin is probably Vic's only chance of victory at 122, but Marquez's height, punching power, and boxing ability would spell disaster for Vic anyways.

Vic is nuts and arrogant as hell if he thinks he can beat any of the top guys at 122. Can you imagine him against Caballero?

Double, I have no idea why you keep talking about height advantages.

Marquez and Vazquez are both short, even for 122.

Marquez, Vazquez and Chinny-Anne are all 5'5, I think Israel might even be 5'4.

It wouldn't matter though, they'd both hammer Chinny-Anne.

Vasquez vs Darchinyan? That would be just up Israel's alley. He hasn't fought a super bantam in nearly three years.

Who knows. I haven't heard about them sparring for a while now.

I Vic beat up Izzy in sparring a few years ago, around the same time Hussein was handling him regularly

Vic seriously got the better of Izzy in sparring?

Is Izzy known to be bettered by lesser fighters in sparring?

i guess you're right. Vic is just about the same height as those guys. hard to believe. i guess from a physical stand-point, this doesn't seem like the mismatch i thought it was.

still, i think Vazquez and Marquez are much better fighters than Vic. But who knows what lasting damage both have sustained following their trilogy.

this could be Vic's big chance to put his crab style under the spotlight.

i'm just grateful i was afforded the gift of seeing him get KTFO. no matter what, i'll always be able to revisit that fight when i can no longer stand to look at his rat face.

Maybe. But both have been beaten by fighters in the Nonito Donaire level. I think they've both become overrated along the way and Vic's crab style causes him to be underrated by a lot of people.

I'd like to see the fights, but there are other fights at 115/118 that make sense before jumping 7 lbs.

Vic's gone from having no defense to having a little bit. Wow. Now to listen to Bernstein he's an expert boxer.

Fact is, he hits people with his loaded up left hand, they feel it like a freight train, and then he has his way with him.

He still fights like a crab and if it weren't for his being a south-paw, he'd have been knocked out more than once by now.

darchinyan is a tricky fighter. almost like mayorga but faster and more fluid.

a fighter who can neutralize his motion should beat him w/ ease, but it would require a lot of speed to do so.

martin castillo at his best would've fucked him up imo.

i'd like to see darchinyan vs. agbeko.

There are quite a few recorded sessions where Vazquez has been bettered by sparring partners, including Darchinyan by some accounts (which I didn't see) and art simonyan (which I did, and which was swiftly followed by vazquez battering him when they actually fought)
