Tarvis Simms has been bitching and whining for a fight. Let's see it.

Angulo people probably want someone that will stand in front of him for most of the fight....

good, Perez was a shitty replacement, Ishe Smith or A. Gomez are far better choice imo

Cosme Rivera is the new opponent, according to Rick Reeno.

Yeah, it should be Rivera if he actually makes it to the ring.

There is no ideal replacement at this point, given what little time there is to prepare.

It's a showcase fight now, so hopefully Angulo delivers.

Well certainly it's not going to be Angulo as long as he's fighting a Cosme Rivera. What a shitty fight. They won't approve a guy like Ishe and they approve this garbage? Rivera has spent most of his career at 140. At least give him someone in his own damn weight class. Angulo is a young natural Jr MW, he will kill Cosme Rivera.

Oh well, I'll just go back to not caring about Angulo so long as he's fighting scrubs. The Mayorga fight was interesting to me, this is plain crap.

I think I'd rather see him fight Smith than Mayorga.

Hey, i can't begrudge any match-up involving Rivera.....it is rare to find someone who is at his happiest when he has just been put on his ass....that grin is a delight

He's actually pretty useful as he showed vs Berto....against Angulo he will be outsized, but considering how close we are to fight night, i think it is a decent choice

Me too, I can't believe they wouldn't approve that fight. Ishe is a very good test for someone at Angulo's level right now.

    This ISN'T Angulo's Fault:nono:....

Mayorga's the 1 that "Pulled Out", Basically @ the LAST Minute...

    Exactly...

Angulo was PREPARED for Mayorga, who has a Drastically DIFFERENT Style than Ishe Smith...w/a FULL Training Camp to Prepare, SURE, Bring on Ishe Smith...But NOT as a Last Minute Replacement, Especially Considering what Angulo has to LOSE....

NOBODY's Gonna Thump their Chest after Angulo Waxes Rivera, but it's a DECENT Consolation Fight....

I didn't blame him. I just don't care to watch forgone conclusions and that is what this fight is now. It's not even worth watching now. What can Angulo do? Knock out Cosme better than Judah did?

REED'll Settle for Angulo Beating him More DECISIVELY than Berto Did...ENDING the Fight Earlier & AVOIDING the Canvas Altogether....There's Not MUCH for Angulo to Gain Here, which Puts a Degree of PRESSURE on him to Win EMPHATICALLY & IMPRESSIVELY...

I think HBO is done giving Ishe chances only to watch him sit there and pull Antonio Tarver like aggression in the ring. The dude exudes boredom.

Yep, Smith might have been more competitive than Rivera for sure, but that would have likely been achieved by most boring means necessary, especially given Angulo's preparation for the complete opposite type of opponent.

Rivera isn't a 154Iber but I wouldn't be surprised if he makes it a better fight than anticipated, the Judah fight was an aberration, he's not an easy out at 147 at least.

Stupid fight. Cosmo has no chance.

Despite what some of ye say, Mayo had a realistic chance.

He is a BIG step up from anyone Le Chien has fought, and his power/toughness/experience/unpredictable style gave him a shot.

How can you be so dismissive of Cosme?

As a fellow brit, i am sure you remember the night Cosme triggered memories of some of boxings greatest exponents in his destruction of James 'Lord of the Manor' Hare......write him off at your peril!!!
